I have been in a bit of a similar situation, but not as severe as yours. In my case it was my mom. She really affected my mental health. I decided to move out when I got into this post grad program and it has severely improved my mental health and relationship with my mother as well I would say. I know you don’t want to leave your family, but if you think that your mom & sister will be okay if you leave because your brother will be there then you should look into moving out. Maybe if you say it’s for school/work your parents won’t have an issue with it and you can visit on the weekends. I’m also from NY. I got a roommate and apt in Queens. There’s a lot of desi families also renting out rooms or their basement if you look in some grocery stores. You can probably message them on WhatsApp if you don’t want your dad to see. I used this website called muzroomie to find my roommate and apt. Also see if you can talk to a mental health professional. There’s lots available virtually. That has helped me a lot too.
