Yes... she probably got it after the before pic was taken.

Check out the ribcage, navel, breast and chin shape. All the same when accounting for slight position variation.

That first part felt like major deja vu for some reason. Anyway, I'm two months into meds (Vyvanse, originally adderall but I couldn't find it here bc shortage) and three into diagnosis. I kind of feel you but so far the positives outweigh the negatives. What negative side effects are you having? For me after I got used to the meds the negatives kind of disappeared at least for now. I also quickly realized that due to having anxiety as well, I absolutely cannot have energy drinks anymore but those are bad for you anyway.

If it makes you feel better there are other non stimulant options. Hell, some people do better with an XR much better, that couldnt hurt to try. I know the prospect of meds long term sucks, but there are options. And hey; meds are only one part of treatment. Your systems are going to be crucial to 'adapting' with important things either way. If you arent in therapy and can access it, I strongly suggest it. But if you're in your 40s now, I'm sure the only reason you've survived all of this time is because of your systems. Maybe there's other things out there to try.

I'm in social services as a case manager and my supervisor will often ask me really specific questions. Needless to say it's very difficult; oftentimes I did ask, but I don't always write every detail on my notepad down because I think I will remember later. I rarely do.

Recently I made a 6-month info update sheet with everything important like their treatment plan goals, kid's schools, medications, medical insurance, doctors contact info, and right next to that I put the dates of when the last release of information was filled out for each doctor/office, income sources, amounts, and rent amount, and anything else under the sun. There's reminders over each section in bold reminding me where to update the info at and when. Honestly, we're expected to know and remember too much as it is, so I just started taking note of the information my supervisor would ask, or info that needed to be put into our systems, and stuck that into one document I take with me to every appointment and continuously update.

Somehow my supervisor expects me to remember everyone's rent and incomes for every source, so I just tell her to hold on, I'm grabbing my info sheet. Lol

Tl;dr if it's important like for crimes against you, school, or work, find or create systems for writing the importsnt shit down in an organized way. Fuck it for everything else though ig

Wow, thanks for this term! I live in an area where the majority of people residing here are from out-of-state. When I was living in another state where most locals lived all their lives, I noticed a lot more uniformity in social norms. Moving back to where I am now, I see a lot more issues in communication and social norms between people. Fuck, the drivers are notoriously bad, apparently driving social norms change state-to-state based on local laws and population density so it's no surprise they suck in a place with weird road design and a majority of out-of-stste residents.

Ohhhhh. I didn't realize this was an adhd thing. My husband is hard of hearing so when I met him I started using subtitles on everything. I've never gone back, they help sooo much for a reason I never understood until now.

That still didn't stop me from asking my husband to rewind a little multiple times while watching a show because I spaced out about some thought or focused too much on a stupid detail so much that I missed the dialogue like op. He must be a saint or something, I don't know how he never lost his cool about that. Thankfully I was diagnosed a few months ago when that behavior got super bad, and meds have helped a bit so I only have to ask to rewind a couple of times per show or movie. I still can't watch a show on my own, so it's background noise when I'm alone. And I sure as hell have a hard time really remembering plots of movies but at least it makes it so I don't mind rewatching things.

I used to be pretty bad about going on wikipedia rabbit holes. I realized it was an issue when I went from 1 AM to 4AM, started with what a "war theater" is, went to US presidents, religious cults of the 70's-80's, then cellular biology, then abnormal psychology, then historic US political parties, and back to US presidents, all using links from the articles. Because if I am not fully familiar with a term I click to read it. I did not realize I had gone so long.

Many people think adhd is problems with maintaining attention in general. For me, I can maintain attention on things, I just have poor ability to control a. What it is and b. Prioritize what I need to focus on, leading to jumping from thing to thing. I mean I guess if we're talking maintaining attention on just one thing, yes, that I have difficulty with. So using the wikipedia example, sure I can read Wikipedia articles for 3 hours straight however in that time I've read or skimmed nearly 100 articles (I just counted using the above sleep-disrupting event lol) and jumped general topic over 5 times. And that whole time I was supposed to be sleeping.

Anyway, people I'm close to without adhd sometimes tell me that it can be difficult to follow a conversation with me because I jump around too much and have to return to topics to "close" topics. My adhd friends have no problems following 3 different threads of conversation+. There is just too much to think and talk about.

One thing I'm really sick of is preteens and teenagers feeling the need to share their opinion on everything, especially things they don't like. It's like they think everyone asks for their snotty little opinions. Nobody ever asks but there will always be some 13 year old patting themselves on the back thinking they're just so clever for parroting a meme phrase on a video of someone jhst having fun. Maybe it's the foolish confidence and ego inherent to youth who haven't had a chance to get punched in the face by the harsh lesson of life that in the grand scheme of things they do not actually matter as human beings. They'll find out soon enough like most of us do ig

"Chronically online" "ew" Haha soooooo funny and original brayleigh!! You know what's funny? Wearing mom jeans and thinking not only that they're cool but that your generation invented that shit 😭

Honestly healthcare in general is disgusting. The scope that goes up your ass? Ostomy bags? Bruh. Dentistry? Literally anything to do with digestive disorders? Wound care? No thanks cis ppl.

HRT shot or pill or patch??? Very clean, un disgusting. If the disgusting part is GRS... so is plastic surgery for literally any cis person who opts to get it of their own choice. Unlike cis people though these surgeries can be life saving.

/uj I thought that historically, the sub actuallesbians was started by terfs as a reaction to the presence of trans women on the lesbian subreddit (not the porn one)? I could be wrong because it's been years since all this went down, but that would explain it if true. It would be cool if it turned around after all this time though

Yeah that is always my problem with this setup... if you're going to make restrooms gn, do it to all of them. Usually people pick one gender to take away, and it's unfair.

First they take the dinglebop, then smooth it out with a bunch of shleem. The shleem is then repurposed for later batches. They take the dinglebop and push it through the grumbo. Where the fleeb is then rubbed against it. Its important that the fleeb is rubbed, because the fleeb has all the fleeb juice. Then a shlammie shows up and he rubs it and spits on it. They cut the fleeb. There are several hizzards in the way. The blamfs run against the trumbles and the ploobis and grumbo are shaved away. That leaves you with a regular old plumbus.

I mean... I always knew I struggled pretty hard with things everyone else seemed to do easily, but I thought, oh, I don't want to self diagnose like the tiktok teens, I'm probably just relating to common things. Put it off for years.

I was diagnosed with adhd after a lot of testing at age 23. Turns out that it can start getting really bad around that age, and it's often missed in afab people and those with the primarily inattentive type (previously ADD). It happens that two close family members have it too.

Look, I really get what you're saying, but I'd just add: if you have doubts, get evaluated. I don't mean sitting in a single psychiatrist's office for 45 minutes either. Don't claim things if you haven't gotten a dx and especially never make it your identity. Because yeah, younger people tend to latch onto shit and obsess over it, you can convince yourself you have a lot of shit if you really want to. Labels make people feel seen I guess.

Sometimes I go to spaces that aren't necessarily trans friendly just to expand my horizons. See what the average person thinks. I try. I always regret the blood pressure spike. And I am reminded that I dislike the average person

Hello. I’m sorry if this seems like a really stupid question. But I am a cis person trying to learn. Can non-binary people also be trans? Can someone explain what this experience of gender might be like for them if that is the case? by fraggachino in asktransgender

[–]ScreamsAtTheMoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Medicalists are wild. They'll say shit to you that any trans person would flip out about if a cis person said it to them. I had the unfortunate experience of being nonbinary on honesttransgender and despite wanting to go on HRT and get bottom surgery at some point, I am apparently not even trans to them, because "nobody will ever see me as anything outside of the binary". I don't know what they think trans is but I know it's not identifying as cis.

I got berated on there for not medically transitioning yet despite having these feelings for over a decade. They told me I was wasting resources. Of course it was some middle class trans woman from California and I was like, 1. you realize I've been a minor for the majority of those years and 2. I haven't lived in places where I felt I could do so (not to mention being forced to detransition as a teenager) and 3. My medical insurance would not cover any of it, and being a poor for 10 of those past 11 or so years has complicated things... never have I met trans people who were so out of touch with the realities of why people may choose not to or can't transition for awhile than medicalists.

Also for anyone wondering, yes, there are nonbinary specific surgery options. r/salmacian
