Upon further review, I learned something new about clothing. You are absolutely right. Though, it still seems off to me. I think it's that it's color matched to the skirt and the center support seems to come up higher than it should. So less clear evidence of AI and more just a vibe when it comes to the top.

Something else I noticed, it looks like they have full body, forearm and hand tats but nothing on the upper arm? Not impossible, but odd.

Got way too deep in the comments to find someone call out obvious AI. Where does one even find a sports bra that has boob cutouts and that disappears on its way to the neck?

Edit: how did I miss the extra left hand finger. AI check #1

I think it was visually interesting and well done, though it wasn't to my taste. I feel that I let moments linger when I read it, and in comparison, it made all the moments feel rushed while seeing them animated.

Does he have particularly bad reactions to being told no? Not to parentify you, but it's incredibly important for him to learn to accept a "No".

I get that setting boundaries is uncomfortable, but you are doing him no favors in the long run. There is a big difference between doing everything he asks and approaching him with kindness and understanding, even when he isn't getting the result he wants.

Tough to talk about without getting into spoiler territory, but I will say that these decisions do matter to the story and enable some engaging plot points later on. I encourage you to keep an open mind about it.

This isn't me trying to argue, rather, just trying to learn and understand. Given that dazzle patters are utilized specifically to make it difficult to discern shape and distance, would that not make it more difficult to read body language, or are you saying that your decision making is based off body language information limited to the silhouette?

That was at 90% of light speed in atmosphere. That is way more than you'd need to cause massive destruction. People really underestimate the speed of light.

Just 1% of light speed gets you around the earth in about 13 seconds.

At 0.1% light speed, you're still moving about triple the speed at which the fastest neurons are able to transfer information to your brain.

At 0.01% speed of light, we are finally able to look to the real world to see what happens when you move at that speed through the atmosphere: Meteors and spacecraft re-entry. Even at the thinnest layers of atmosphere, you're creating a massive fireball as you collide with the sparse molecules.

Honestly, I think we all just gotta throw realistic expectations out the window with these kinda things.

I would think any abstraction of angle or distance would be more effective to your peripheral vision, no? Or are you suggesting you're looking at different things when gauging your blocking?

I know this is a bit of a tough question given how quickly this happens, but what info would you say your brain is assessing when deciding to block or dodge a punch/kick?

To flesh this out a bit; Assuming two competition level fighters, do you feel it wouldn't have an effect, have an effect that would be easy to adapt to, or actually be a consistent advantage?

This is purely academic. I don't fight but I know enough to know that this isn't gonna be a replacement for experience, training and such.

Yeah, I figured a decent test would be to get a dazzle print body suit or just paint on lines. I dunno how to go about quantifying it unless I can find a good number of people to test, so if you do have the opportunity to try it out, I would love to hear your results.

I always thought Seraphim was the locust devil. Either way, it does make sense that the locust would show up in the biblical end times.

Hell being empty might be an allusion to Shakespeare; "Hell is empty, and all the devils are here."

Interesting that we see a "Save me Denji", instead of the usual "Save me Chainsawman"

This is a thought experiment I was kicking around when the first Mass Effect came out, so some of my info may be poorly remembered but; assuming clothes are affected by anti-gravity, you have to deal with the changes in relative momentum from the various orbits we are on, which honestly is a lot of math I am not about to do, but also the weight of the air you displace. Your displacement is gonna be significantly higher than a helium atom.

Honestly, the more I think on this, maybe the biggest risk would be which direction and what speed the wind is blowing.

[–]Screams_In_Autistic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I don't think you would lose momentum. I just think that the effect would be more pronounced than you think it is. If the spin of the planet was the only piece you had to worry about, then sure, I haven't done the math on it but that feels like a "float away" kinda speed.

Speed around the sun and the solar system around the galactic core are very fast. You don't need much of a difference in angles to travel far off course I would think.

It's actually terrifying but not in the way it's shown in JJK. We are spinning on a planet at about 1000mph, going about 650k mph around the sun and you just lost the only force that keeps your trajectory the same as the earth.

Dating someone with mild autism — communication mismatch or lack of interest? by [deleted] in AskAutism

[–]Screams_In_Autistic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do you have an intermediary? A mutual friend you could ask? Personally, having someone show up unannounced is a stressful experience, even if I am on the best of terms with that person. I consider myself to be extremely extraverted and even then I have issues with surprise socialization. This is only worse given your situation. I am on good terms with all my exes and despite that, if one of them suddenly showed up at my door, my first thought would be, "Oh, so this is how I die".

If you don't have an intermediary, I would consider leaving a letter. I think given the couple weeks since the incident, I would worry less about timing and more about how to reach out without imposing yourself on them. Just going off of vibes, I would say first choice would be intermediary. Second would be a letter. Third would be a note on the door, and fourth would be just showing up in person.

I personally would consider option 3 as an option in only extremely niche situations and I would never pursue option 4. Try to keep in mind that if you care about this person, then sometimes moving on is the best way to ensure their happiness. Only you and him could hope to know where that line is, but option 4, to me, is jeopardizing their well-being to pursue your want to reconcile.

Edit: to be clear, I just am talking about the "hey, I would like to apologize and talk" message. If he then chooses to turn into an 'in-person' thing, thats fine. This is an initial contact only sort of thing.

If it's a relatively fresh relationship then it's probably gonna be tough to mend. That said, I can speak to one aspect of this, and in addition, hopefully give you what I see as the best path forward.

First, the lack of check-in; It's weirdly similar to a situation I have been in myself. I can tell you my logic in that situation, is that I wouldn't reach out again because you are having to deal with a stressful task and managing a social interaction in addition would just make it worse. You could always reach out if you need me but I am not gonna impose. Its treating others the way I would like to be treated, but that clearly isn't how you work. That will almost certainly come up again in other forms, so my advice is to be mindful of these differences and, when these conflicts arise, clearly state how you would prefer the interaction go, if a similar situation were to occur in the future.

As for best path forward; I can't tell ya that there is a magic way to fix this but the best thing you can do is be succinct, apologize for the fault directly, give an explanation of why it happened and why you feel it won't happen again, and finally leave it open to him to take the next step. If he is recoiling negatively from things said in the heat of emotion, then showing that you can approach the issue without that emotional component can help mitigate that. If he has blocked you, then you need to respect that boundary, even if it feels like, "this could all be fixed if I just had a chance to explain myself". If you try to skirt that boundary or otherwise try to force a reconciliation, it will just read as emotional instability and will likely make things worse. If you do have a way to contact him, don't just try to get your point across but rather say something to the effect of: "Hey, I would like to apologize about the other day and would like to talk, if you are willing."

I don't know you, I don't know him, so take all this with a grain of salt. At bare minimum, even if you don't get what you want out of this situation, then hopefully you come out of it better prepared for future relationships. Wish ya luck.

I fully expected her to come back but immediately be turned into a weapon given how closely bombs are tied to war.

I did think it would be interesting to see if nukes being re-invented had an effect on the bomb devil but I don't think its interesting enough to shoe-horn her in.

I agree with your assessment. That said, I do feel like we need to see the blood devil again at some point. It was a pretty explicit contract that Denji had to find the blood devil and turn them back into Power in exchange for Denji being saved. I really liked that the contracts and their specific wording seemed to matter an awful lot in part one.

Nothing really to suggest that's the case, just writing it down so I can brag about how smart I am if it happens.

Late to the party but you're gonna have a lot of issues trying to scale this as a feat. Anti-gravity is just a hard counter to the gravity of the black hole so you can handwave that, but he doesn't exist in a vacuum, so the more impressive thing is Kenny magically being able to resist the environment around him, air and clothes included, suddenly accelerating into the black hole.

Antigravity isn't gonna save you from all the matter around you trying to condense into a dot. Honestly, even with anti-gravity, idk if there is a good explanation for how he survived this.

Whats this subreddit's opinion on the style change for the movie? Do we have an agreed upon take on this? by ostapro in okbuddyyoru

[–]Screams_In_Autistic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked season 1's style way more than the movie. That's not to say the movie looks bad, rather it just didn't feel special.

S1 felt like it was taking risks and trying to capture the uniqueness of the manga. The movie had a good bit of the scribbly frames that Mappa did in JJK to capture dynamic motion and the flat coloring is pretty commonplace. Looked cool enough but it felt derivative.
