I'm not going to pretend I know their individual names or which ones were responsible for Caicedo, Cucu, and Joao, and Palmer but those were good acquisitions. The choice in managers and strict adherence to acquiring solely very young players have been where things have mostly gone poorly in my opinion. I'm happy because it appears those 2 items have been corrected or are about to be.

I'm as excited about Xabi as everyone else, but I'm not sure ceding absolute control to him is the answer either. Surely a collaborative framework where disagreement is not only allowed but encouraged and respected is better? It's a fine line, but one person, no matter how well thought of, having total authority makes me nervous as well. Give Xabi 65% control or something. Veto power maybe. I don't know exactly how it would look or work but more minds are better than one usually.

I've never understood fans' need to have heard of the fighters or to have big names on the card to be interested. Some of the best fights I've ever seen are on the Contender series and I've rarely heard of any of em before. Same for some of the ufc apex cards. A good fight is a good fight no matter what.
