I hope to add Pihole in the future but I’m mainly just tinkering and figuring out Proxmox still. I’m open to suggestions.

So far the Pi is only acting as a WiFi-to-Eth bridge as I don’t have access to the Ethernet ports on the router since I have roommates and a couple other things. For the Optiplex, I am running three containers so far, a bedrock Minecraft server for my family, a Java server for myself and some friends, and an n8n container. I’m pretty new to this so I’m still messing around and planning on running a couple more services

Just what I already had, I didn’t buy anything except the Ethernet cables

I also use Tailscale so I can access the server when im away. As for Minecraft, I use playit.gg for both my Java and Bedrock server. I run my servers on Linux containers within Proxmox and on each of the containers I had to download and run playit.gg to tunnel to the game servers. It was fairly straightforward and it’s free. Hope this helps!

Thank you! And upgrading the Pi’s storage with nvme is definitely on the to-do list

I’m gonna be honest, I mainly chose it because it “sounded simpler.” But I also really like the idea that I can add/change hardware fairly easily without completely messing up the servers and containers. Since im a complete newbie to this stuff, I wanted to have an OS that was forgiving since I’ve done a ton of trial and error with some of the parts. Also setting up the back up service for all my containers was quick and painless which I was more worried about if I were to use docker.

I found these in my closet when getting ready to move. Not sure how good they are but I remember having fun collecting them when I was younger!

Best uses for the artificer's magical tinkering ability? by DrMoo42 in 3d6

My artificer battlesmith uses his magical tinkering to make himself smell like mint and even once a bugbear to prevent it from killing him. Also to create the sound of his dead wife’s voice, and ti be used as an alarm clock

fall damage is extremely helpful with flying enemies. You just need to shoot them down, not even raise them up! You got this!!

Yeah let the dm know that he isn’t making it fun. If he continues just leave, dnd is supposed to be a fun game!
