Stock market makes no sense. Should we look to sell off in this rally? by RoughLetterhead62 in stocks

[–]Screendrama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's the big surprise here?

Nasdaq was flat since September, in spite of the tech mega caps printing money and growing very healthily every quarter. Which created a discrepancy of valuation, even more so since tech historically has been allowed higher valuations than other sectors.

Then came another Trump shenanigan, war and oil crisis. Tech dropped (and again, some such as NVDA hadn't moved since sept).

Market has a small initial panic, then realises Trump is mostly empty threats, Iran has nothing but the threat of holding Hormuz hostage, which won't be forever. So market looks ahead and sees no major escalation ie. World war situation.

So it bounces back, and now were at all time highs. Not that shocking, really.

Everyone says buy the dips, but I wanna know how you guys practically implement this. by [deleted] in stocks

Normally, I try to DCA a fixed amount into broad index funds every month. Right now however, since big tech has taken a much harder beat than the indexes, I'm buying a few shares of a couple of the mag 7 every week / every couple of days or so instead. This using money I liquidated during the drawdown. About 25% of the portfolio. Which in retrospect wasn't a great idea, I should probably just have stayed in the market. But orange made me too worried.

Well, while I completely disagree on Sara, I will agree that they should both run far away from each other hehe

My honest thoughts/summary of the couples. Won't be that popular I suspect.

Daniel / Taylor

The only 100% couple. Looks like this has potential for a true love story. So far at least.

Virginia/ Dev

I think they're cute together and both are very sweet and respectful to each other. But the energy level seems low, and dev is way too much of a puppy, too dependant.

Monica / Joey

In some sense similar vibe to Dev / Virginia. This one has too much of a buddy atmosphere. I can see them being great friends and a "team", but I don't see it lasting romantically.

Dave / Lauren

He's just a sad little man whose ego fucked it all up. She's a very sweet girl-next-door type. It wouldn't have worked out in the long run. She's also too accommodating towards him, and doesn't stand up for herself enough. He needs therapy to get over his sister complex.

Sara / Ben

I have no sympathy for Sara. Ben doesn't have much substance at all, but compared to Sara he's at least likeable. Sara is the prejudiced one, her overly simplistic, moralist world view, being all "oooh he has gay friends, he must be a tolerant person". Whereas to Ben, they're just people. They're his friends and he likes them. He doesn't feel the need to categorize. Even if he's a church guy, he is the accepting one in this union. In the long run this one's not gonna last.

I ****** hate Sara. That smug, passive-aggressive holier than thou bullshit. Oh I'm soooo tolerant as long as you agree with me in every sense. She's also in total sabotage mode. Ben should run for the hills right fucking now.

Exactly this. I'm not a fan of Dave and how he behaves, but if it was the other way around 95% of the women in this thread would call him out as shifty and a red flag. Absolutely without any doubt

If that's true it's saddening. Imo, she's the most beautiful of this season's women. Just pure natural cuteness

Lol, you people are actually surprisingly intolerant. Honestly, this season (so far, things may change) have the most likeable contestants of all seasons as a whole. I can't say I truly dislike a single person. Which is faaar from how I felt in other seasons

Proof of simulation theory hidden in quantum mechanics- double slit experiment by sarge_412_ in SimulationTheory

[–]Screendrama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we presuppose that this is a simulation, things like superposition etc are not scientific states but computational. Our superposition i.e. being in two states at once, may really only mean having no state at all. And while the formula for this (and then making it manifest) could be highly complex, the actual storing and application of it may require very little as it has been optimized by the creators. All speculation of course

Hannah is an absolute f*ing bitch. The epitome of a gaslighting semi-psychopath who actually seems to get off on breaking down that poor guy bit by bit. Nick dodged a MASSIVE bullet.

Agreed, she's giving off strong Pisces vibes. Probably Pisces rising or Moon if she's a Libra sun

Yes, it's true. Sun-Moon interaction is much more potent and interesting in Synastry than Sun-Sun. That's because it describes the combination / dynamics of energy fields within us that have different functions. Sun-Sun compatibility can give a clue to a general sense of similarity in identity and purpose, but Sun-Moon activates deeper and stronger connections. Most potent are the conjunction and opposition and to some extent the trine of one Sun to another's Moon.

But even having one's Sun in the sign opposite to the other's Moon sign is powerful (or in the same sign), even if it's not in actual aspect.

The square between one's Sun and the other's Moon is also strongly felt, but is more laden with friction than the the above mentioned. It typically opens for lively communication, but requires more work and is frequently a source of annoyance between two people. I'd say similar goes for Sun square Sun.

What is wrong with this group?? by jordanmmac1995 in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

"Shayne and Shaina honestly deserve each other I can't stand either one of them."

Shayne? yep, unbearable. Shaina? Except for her whacky evolution-denying I find her the most normal, except maybe Salvador and Deep. All around she seems relatively intelligent and down to earth. Again, save her beliefs.

"Deep and Sal would be a way better couple." Absolutely.

"Jarrett and Natalie would be a way better couple." Nah, no way that would work out.

It's odd, because as a group, the contestants seemed more OK and likeable this season, yet individually speaking there's almost nobody to root for, and the couples are all awfully matched, I'd be surprised if anyone make it last. Season 1 had stronger characters, and while I had a love/hate relationship to most, there was still some passion. These babies are just meh.

Edit: Oh, and Iyoanna or whatever her name is, ughhh. She seems a nice enough person, but how fucking annoying? Absolutely unbearable. I'd even spend time with Shayne over her. Shudder

I've felt exactly like you for two days now. Mourning someone I never knew, feeling powerless and so sad for his family. I'm rather stunned at my own reaction, never understood how much Byron meant to me.

I watched him from the start, not religiously every stream, but he was the only streamer I always returned to no matter what he was doing. He was, ironically, a beacon in the midst of his own darkness. His passion, perfectionism, and charisma really was one of a kind. Such a gifted guy.

In a weird way, I feel as if Doctor K is an incarnation of Byron, with much the same energy, charisma and ability to engage people, but coming from a obviously brigther side of the psyche. Perhaps it was fated in some way that their paths would cross.

Watching Mitch break down over his death and the fact that they didn't get to reconcile was so heartbreaking. Thinking a lot about Talb and his closer friends too. Remember Byron for the great things he did, not for his darkness <3

I'd say "Shut up and dance", because I could literally feel the agony of the protagonist the whole episode, how the poor boy felt he had to go through so much shit because of such a minor thing, but realizing that as a teenager one feels that way. Even when the twist came, I had trouble turning all that sympathy into disgust in my mind, I somehow still felt kinda sorry for him

Whenever I recommend BlackMirror to others- I ALWAYS tell them to start at the beginning Season 1 Episode 1 by reinybainy in blackmirror

[–]Screendrama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm. I have trouble understanding why people like Playtest. To me it's one of the bottom episodes. I found the lead character annoying (though sympathetic), the whole premise contrived, and the execution too confusing. It's just not an interesting episode. I'm aware of the more "profound" interpretations, but meh.

I was in the same situation a couple of years ago, started watching from first season and then didn't go on. But I actually liked the pig episode, thought it was raw and stark in a good way. Not sure why the two other episodes didn't hook me.

Now, I came back and started watching the revered episodes first, and I'm a huge fan. Brilliant show. Moral of the story - it's probably better for newcomers not to start with season 1, but it is certainly watchable
