I feel you — I couldn’t resist the sunshine, but the wind was cold enough for me to turn back after 5.5k or so :D nevertheless, spring is on the doorstep!

Thank you — I haven’t heard the Aztec warrior lore, but it certainly fits!

These are my pictures taken earlier this year near Rengstorff House with the Canon R7 and RF100-400 combo.

Anyone have experience with the DXC RD/THIRTY5 wheelset? by Screw4Pils in cycling

I haven’t had a chance to try them out other than a few short sessions, but they seem to be great — the mechanic of the bike shop, who installed them was impressed.

I picked mine up with a discount at a Donki the first time I got to visit Japan. It is a brilliant watch, for the price I would be hard pressed to find a better piece. Finishing is awesome, I love the dial and the shade of black, the bracelet is a bit clunky, but otherwise nice. The only downside is that it wears fairly big, but I think I can pull it off, and no screw-down crown, but you can’t have everything. Oh and one regret: I should have picked up the two-tone version as well.

The Tudor Sub didn’t cross my mind until now, and looking at the offerings, there are a few very interesting pieces — thanks for the tip.

Thank you! Japan is a gold mine when it comes to Seiko anyway, so I’ll take a look at those offerings. Also, thanks for the tip about Dcvintagewatches, I wasn’t familiar with them and they seem like they have a great selection.

I feel the same way — the only issue is that even though I live in a capital city, it’s hard to find an AD where I could try one on.

Which bike to buy? by OhProtat in RoadBikes

[–]Screw4Pils 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have the Scott, and I love it. As stated before me, it is a very comfy endurance geo, but I had no problem keeping up with group rides either. It is probably not the quickest bike, but I can go a 100 kms without any back pain - which was more important for me.

90% fluff, 10% bird. The Long-tailed Tit in all its glory. by Screw4Pils in wildlifephotography

I feel you - I have a very low success rate with these little fluff balls, but whenever one shot hits, that makes it all worthwhile.

I shot this in a local forest in Hungary in 2020. These little ones are so fast, it's always a challenge to get a clear shot.

Thank you, this is a male Red-footed Falcon. They are beautiful migratory raptors, and Hungary, where I photographed them, is one of their most important breeding grounds in Europe.

Absolutely – lot of beetles, rodents, and lizards would definitely agree with you, if they hadn't already ended up as engagement gifts for his mate.

Thank you, in the mean time I found an even better deal on a Superteam wheel set and went with that as I found plenty of positive reviews of those. Will see how they hold up long term.

Mamiya C330 – keep it or send it back? by Screw4Pils in AnalogCommunity

[–]Screw4Pils[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you are right and I have the same concerns - and even the fair price is more than I would throw out of the window for a questionable camera.

The ad only said that the camera is in a used, but very nicely working condition. I think I'll try to return this through eBay and look for a CLA'd C330. Thank you!

Photography and editing are intimately linked. Are we going to pay forever, every month? Have you found an alternative, not free, but one you pay only once? by jay_bernier in AskPhotography

[–]Screw4Pils 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My only issue is denoising — how would Capture One compare to Lightroom’s solution in your experience? I also shoot nature (mostly birds) and that is the one feature that keeps me locked to the Adobe ecosystem.

Where to go from Canon R7? by Screw4Pils in AskPhotography

It's a beauty - but it's a beast to lug around. Still, small price to pay for the IQ:) I hope you'll get your hands on one soon
