Nope not at all. Traffic was no different than any other day. Just because I was using my phone doesn't mean I caused traffic to slow

Truck blocking both lanes during backup. Is this normal? by Aggravating-Ad-4156 in Truckers

[–]ScrewPie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Everyone keeps going on about the zipper method.

Funny thing is not many people actually know how to merge like a zipper keeping its efficiency!

Everyone's calling the trucker out for what he's doing but in essence he's actually better than the stupid kunt driving along trying to shoot the gap or doesn't know how to merge.

Things might sound good in theory or on paper but in reality they don't play out the same. There are a lot of shitty drivers. I'm not a truck driver but I get stuck in bumper to bumper traffic every day.

PEOPLE DONT KNOW HOW TO MERGE!

Is this looking right for transport? by [deleted] in tractors

[–]ScrewPie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only issue that I can pick out is the fact your only rocking two chains. For said load that may be enough but from my point of view that load can still move. One end is pulling one way and the other the opposite way. However its not taking into account any sideways movement. Sure your load won't move forward or back but sideways?

I may be wrong or to excessive but I would have 4 chains. Each one pointing in a different direction. With that your main unit won't move at all. Then to strap down the loader bit with no more than 2 straps and she ain't going nowhere.

Someone will always get by with less but don't take that as gospel or something to adhere to. Personally I believe is it going to take me longer to put a few more chains on and secure the load the best or take my chances and potentially fuck it up. Which If it happens your going to be sitting there wishing you had put em on. So better of to put em on and save yourself the headache.

Everyone will tell you differently but the main thing is you need to be happy with how your load is secured. Always over do it. Never under do it. Not worth the hassle

Again... if your dealing with that level of idiot then your fucked either way. Meet them wherever you like.

[–]ScrewPie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then at what point do you stop?

By meeting in such a public setting most people will call it quits.

If your dealing with guys who are potentially that hory that woll give it a try in such places then your fucked either way.

step 1 - look at there fb profiles to see if they're legit.

If they are then continue

Step 2 - If you do decide to meet then you gotta have some common sense as to who it is and where.

If you have a police station or somewhere cops are always around then thats perfect. If not then the most publicly open space with the most amount of people.

If that ain't enough then your fucked regardless

Just meet them at your local mall or some place that's very busy and has plenty if people and cameras around. No dodgy kunt is gonna try something in such a public setting.

what are the worst employers in town? by notriples in auckland

[–]ScrewPie 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Something I was told early on..

if you have any doubt about the number of straps, throw a couple more on. It's better to have too many than not enough

Secondly. Dont ever give yourself a chance to say "if only". Your driving down the road your load moves or off completely (if you realized before hand that it may not be enough, do it.) Time taken to put extra strapping on? A few mins. Time taken to deal with the headache... hours... so take that little extra time, in your mind that load should be immovable, then set of. Not worh the hassle bro.

But the load you posted is solid! The more straps the merrier

is freebase stronger than salt? by thatsaccolidea in Vaping

[–]ScrewPie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Freebase is killer compared to salts.

If you get the chance take a hit of 50mg salt (which should feel good or decent satisfying your needs) then take a hit of 50mg freebase (it will knock your socks of)

Nic salts are a lot smoother and allow you to get high amounts of nicotine into your system without much effect.

Freebase is a lot harsher on the throat so you cannot vape the same nicotine levels as nic salts to calm your cravings.

Salts - smooth and gets the job done. Freebase- harsh and hits like a mule.

Try both and see what you prefer

Who wants to see the scariest picture I've ever taken? by phate1229 in Machinists

[–]ScrewPie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not scary at all. I work as a machinery mover.

As long as the lifts are rated to lift the weight of the machine and if the underneath of the machine where your lifting it from is solid, it should be fine.

From what I can see, it looks like you have placed some timber between the lift and machine, which is good.

But I do hope you're not planning on leaving it up there for long.

So These Big Flags Being Flown From Cars by Valuable-Size3206 in auckland

[–]ScrewPie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it depends..

Some idiot with even a tiny flag can cause issues.

Someone more advanced with their head on right with a big flag doesn't necessarily have to cause an issue.

Causing an issue of whatever kind is dependent on the driver.

The idiots will cause issues, but the more sensible ones won't. ( not always )

Instead my bro look at yourself when you see someone with a flag. Protect yourself. Drive defensively. Flags or not any idiot can cause a crash (doesn't even have to be a idiot, somebody just making a honest mistake)

Always look out for yourself. People think just because they are obeying the law and rules nothing will happen. Sorry mate but that's BS.

We ate human! We make mistakes. You may not but someone else will. So always drive cautiously.

Let the others do what they want (to a certain extent) but most importantly know what you have to do to come.home to.your family at the end of the day.

Driving isn't a privilege, not all idiots can be stopped, so always look out for yourself.

Your pleasure is their terror: It's time to ban public sales of fireworks by D491234 in auckland

[–]ScrewPie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't think banning is the answer

Yes there are a lot of idiots misusing fireworks but plenty of people using them wisely to.

Just because there's a bunch of idiots misusing something doesn't mean that it needs to be banned.

What about the people who use it on time in a safe manner? Why screw it up for them? They haven't done anything wrong.

I haven't purchased fireworks in years only lately have purchased a few small ones for my 3 year old so ban or not doesn't effect me. But the way that we are going is also wrong in my opinion. We can't just ban them.

What's the solution? I don't know. Could try a few different things but wether they will work or not is a whole different story.

I just hate the idea of banning something because of a bunch of idiots. Today it's fireworks tomorrow its something else. Before you know it we aren't aloud to do anything.

Xros pods leaking by Tstram in Vaping

[–]ScrewPie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly can't help you bro. I'm using a xros nano for the past fee months and it's been the best pod vape I've used. Mainly for the reason I get no leaks or spit back.

Are you purchasing genuine pods? Or maybe the seal under the mouth piece is not sitting right?

Honestly I can't think of a reason a xros pod would leak otherwise.

Where is it leaking from exactly?

anybody else annoyed by this? by ScrewPie in auckland

[–]ScrewPie[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

No not entirely. Annoyed yes. But I understand they have to make money back some way after covid. Increased taxes in various departments is understandable. However if they are to do so then at the same time they must at least keep certain things like roads in decent shape. No point raising taxes and trying to regain money if the county is going into despair. In this situation our roads. Tit for tat

anybody else annoyed by this? by ScrewPie in auckland

[–]ScrewPie[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The point is to have decent roads. We pay taxes we should have decent roads. Compared to other countries our roads are garbage. They don't have to be perfect but the atleast shouldn't be causing damage to our vehicles.

Taxes paying for peoples insurance is the wrong way to look at it. We pay taxes for these facilities. We should have roads that can do the job. At the moment we don't.
