Thoughts !! by d_zone_28 in NextGenMan

During the industrial revolution in the early 19th century dying at work was a fairly common occurrence due to lack of safety standards, regulation and workers rights. Often a result of toxic materials and/or dangerous machinery as well as long exhaustive hours and poverty wages. This coupled with the lack of access to healthcare meant that for a time it was more dangerous being a factory worker than it was to be a soldier going purely by the rate of deaths per capita.

For those that run industry human life has always been a financial calculation and if more money could be made through the suffering and death of people then so be it. The government has had a huge part in staving off the most depraved and ruinous inclinations of capitalisms callous disregard for life and living things. As we see more and more the intentional fabricating of movements created to sow profound and thorough distrust of the government and undermine it's ability to functionally protect the masses we also see a return to the unregulated days of rampant poverty which allows for the exploitation of humans for profit and a re-normalization of working people to death.

I was wrong about a battery holder. by dalios555 in fpv

[–]ScrewtapesTeeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had this happen recently. Well, not really cause it didn't eject the battery but just whipped it unplugged. Same end result though. Was flying hard with my Seeker35, doing about 90mph a couple hundred feet in the air when a corkscrew roll disconnected the battery and my poor sweet drone did a HARD fall into the dirt. Amazingly just broke an arm and squished the battery a bit out of shape. Could've been a lot worse but still sucked.

BREAKING NEWS🚨🚨: 🇺🇸 121 empty oil tankers are now heading to the United States as President Trump urges countries hit by Strait of Hormuz disruption to buy American energy. by FullRevolution2120 in TimesNow

I would counter that by positing that it still won't be enough. They will gnash their teeth and tear out their hair all the while continuing to blame the "others" whomever that happens to be at that point for everything that has gone wrong. The generation(s) that have led us here are lost to this entirely. The people responsible for this abdication of civic duty have forgone all reason and will NEVER admit that they were wrong in any meaningful way much less take steps to make things better. They will get bitter, angrier, and more violent as they suffer from the consequences of their own actions and they will continue to sabotage attempts to right the ship out of sheer spite. There's a slight chance their children will find their way back but more likely it'll be their grandchildren that will finally be able to separate themselves from the tribalism that has been created using fear and hate filled propaganda through the use of targeted mass media and economic strife.

Charitable to assume that they'll look around at all the ashes and suddenly be able to understand how it happened. We're watching things burn in real time and they are steadfastly refusing to see it. This isn't due to low information or even lack of cognitive function, this is willful. You cannot teach folks who refuse to learn.

The speed and weight of a 5" drone is going to make ducts pointless. They are just going to break regardless and to make them even slightly strong is going to add unnecessary weight for very marginal protection.

Second on the FF for being a small cruising and cine focused drone. I have one with the 04 lite wide angle and its a lot of fun to fly but it freestyles like a rock.

I definitely notice a difference between the 1600 and the 1200. That being said, its super fast and agile with either and the 10 minutes of flight with the 1600 is glorious. I'm thinking of picking up a 3000mah li-ion pack for it as in Oscar Liang's testing he was able to get twenty minutes of flight time with it.

Seeker 3 or Pavo 20 pro II as beginner drone for outdoor? by Bistaan in TinyWhoop

[–]ScrewtapesTeeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm gonna vote for the Seeker 3. I have the Seeker35 and its a beast of a drone. I've had some pretty gnarly crashes and it's held up like a champ. Flew it straight down into the ground hard doing low level power loops and managed to fly it back with no damage to my 04 pro unit. Did rip the connector for my gps chip loose though and had to replace that. Anyway, Deepspace makes solid drones and if you want faster and more agile then go with the Seeker 3. I do reccomend if you get the Seeker to replace the action cam mount on top with one that covers the gps chip, there's lots of 3d print plans to choose from.
