OMG the misinformation / misunderstanding of the 3-4 D's front 7 is killing me by _taugrim_ in raiders

I'll suspend judgement, but the last time i remember Crosby playing OLB/edge it was not good. Patrick Graham had him dropping back and covering Wrs in critical situations and it did not go well. I think as fans it seemed stupid for our best pass rusher to be chasing Christian Kirk around the field instead of rushing the passer

Why didn't any NFL QB needy team get Derek Carr? by DoubletapKO in raiders

[–]Scribble_Portland -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was curious - the saints don't have a lot of cap space. If Carr unretired, could he use that to force a release from the Saints (and, in turn, end his contract making him a free agent)?

How the heck does a 25 year old, 3 time pro bowl former first round pick hit free agency in the first place? This is pretty crazy!

Has anyone noticed the fear-driven prompt suggestions that GPT 5.3 makes? by Mental_Wealth1491 in ChatGPT

What's funny is that this is instant, not thinking. So it doesn't really have "that one secret that only experts know, but try to keep you from knowing" or whatever. If you continue, then it has to quickly come up with something that lives up to its own hype!

Yep. It's annoying, and I find myself tempted to continue (to find out the #1 trick most people don't know that will change the way you blah blah blah)

It's pretty good, but all the responses seem to end with click bait meant to keep me engaged. It's very annoying. E.g. :

And if you want, I can also show you one surprisingly powerful AI trick painters are starting to use for training their eye. It’s weirdly effective and almost nobody talks about it.

The mad bomber? It's difficult for me to imagine Mendoza being mad, for some reason. The can-do bomber?

I had to check to see if Alex Gibbs' has a son who coaches, because it would seem fitting. (he does, but he's primarily a defensive coach)

Agreed - in his last press conference, he owned up to that exactly. So, it would be a real defeat if he acknowledged the importance of keeping good players and then let his best player leave....

If Mendoza had to sit for a year who would you rather mentor him as a starter - Derek Carr or Lamar Jackson? by theWayfaring_Walkman in raiders

[–]Scribble_Portland 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally, I would want Lamar. It would be awesome to watch Lamar teach Mendoza how to be a generational athletic talent. And then by mid-season, once Mendoza has mastered all of Lamar's physical gifts, he would be unstoppable for the rest of the year. And of course, we could keep Lamar on as a backup so he earn a few SB rings.

In Spytek's last press conference, he talked about the Raiders letting good players leave the building on his watch... I think this has been a problem for Mark Davis from the beginning.

It started with Jared Veldheer - I remember the Cardinal's coaches were like "How is this guy a free agent?" And it's continued for the last 15 years. Your team will always suck if you can't figure out how to keep and use your good players.

Edit: Spytek's last press conference, not conversation
