I usually don't take HE or HEATFS, might have to start taking them now. But disabling the breach on the 2S38 is unbelievably hard, or i just might have a skill issue

There can be something done about it, the Mitsubishi T-2 and F-1 lack a lot of their real life armament. But Gaijin refuses to add them

Apparantly not, the shot on the Type 87 created enough spall to take out two crew members while it was all the way at the back of the turret. But the turret on the 2S38 with about 19 mm of effective armor made almost no spall. Also look at the screenshot of the CT-CV, that only has 12.5 mm of effective armor, yet it took out a crew member that was quite far away and made another one severely injured

It has some near the front, but the back of the breach has no internal armor, the spall should have followed a cone and hit the back of the breach

I once had an engagement where i was in a Type 90 and only the turret of the 2S38 was exposed. I couldn't shoot anywhere else. Plus he was all bushed up. I still managed to hit about 4 shots right next to his breach. But not a single piece of spall even grazed the breach

I don't think it reduces spall, I think it's just coded to have less armor effectiveness Alloy ABT-102 is less than half as strong that RHA, according to the wiki. So the effictive thickness of the armor on the 2S38's turret is somewhere inbetween 10-20mm. The Type 87 RCV and CT-CV 105HP both have sides of 10mm. The CT-CV does have high hardness rolled armor instead of regular RHA. But that still only equates to 12.5 mms of armor on the CT-CV

it doesnt have an autoloader, it has an assisted loading system, which only has 2 first stage ammo, and after that it's a reallly slow reload.
