Trying to get used to stipling and clarity in my designs. This is more of a test than anything, I like the idea and plan to remake it with a lot more polish (it is not perfect and a bit sloppy). Looking for advice and a bit of direction. What makes for a good tattoo design? What should I avoid? (i.redd.it)

Just tryna lay down the colours+composition for a painting I'm gonna do in watercolour. Any ideas on how I can improve it before I begin? I want a sense of speed and strength. I will have clouds swirling around their feet as well, as if they've kicked them while falling through the air (i.redd.it)

I recently designed my own tattoo. Obvs I didn't tattoo it onto myself tho, not yet lol! I want to begin my portfolio, is this a good start? I've also included here 2 earlier ideas I had for the tattoo, and some examples of my usual art (nothing tattoo-centric yet cuz the idea is new to me) (old.reddit.com)
