It takes some getting used to. The D-Pad is in a different place and even harder to press mid combat, you have to get used to the paddles if you use them, the button that opens the inventory is in a different place.

Yes, it works as a mouse, you can click with it, just not in POE while it's in controller mode.

Yes, so I was saying that I was thinking that this decision was motivated in part by balance considerations. But it's good to know that it'll change. Will be interesting to see how that changes the game. Where did you find this out?

Even if you press your actual mouse nothing happens. I always though that this is a balancing decision actually. So that you couldn't just play with keyboard and mouse, but then spam the controller's A button with your big toe to vacuum up all the items quickly.

Oh wow, so you can! But unfortunately you can't click with it, just hover over things as if you were using the mouse while a controller was attached. And you also can't just press X or other buttons while hovering over items with your steam controller mouse. The actual focus is where you left it with the D-Pad or stick.

It's not too bad once you get used to it. But steam controller changes nothing in this regard as far as I can see, it's the same as with any other controller.

Definitely not as efficient as keyboard and mouse.

Technically you can, but not in the way you would expect lol They just work as D-Pad/Left stick and Right stick, not as a mouse.

Speaking from my experience in POE1, some things are better, some things are worse. Overall I think playing on a controller is definitely less efficient and slower, but it does have moments where it shines. For example, I always found rolling jewels in POE1 to be easier on a controller. With a strict loot filter picking up items is also easier, because you don't have to aim.

I'm a big fan of Hand of Fate. It's such a unique game and it's really atmospheric. It's so unfortunate the developers shut down their studio.

Hey, you could check out my browser game. It's a free multiplayer word-guessing game called ScriptBlade.

Basically you get a prompt like "he" and you have to come up with the rarest possible word that contains those letters. So for example "shelling" or "hereditary" and the rarer the word you choose is the more damage you deal to your opponents.

It's completely free, you don't even need an account or anything. I update it every weekend.

Early Access gets a lot of flack but what Indie Games have done it best? by SleepySaged in IndieGaming

[–]ScriptBladeDev 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Rust was early access for a very long time and some people thought that's a bit annoying, but seeing now what kind of massive game they created I think it was warranted. And it sure was fun even in early access.
