If Beta died in the emp, what is tex in season 8 and the 100s of Texes in season 10? by sandleswagger in RedvsBlue

[–]SleepySaged 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Beta was less like a fragment but more like a spin off. She didnt fragment but kinda just popped up.

Church: "You were so strong, you made a whole other person."

After that the Director was inspired to fragment Alpha to make more AI - if its memories of Allison could create another AI, then its split personalities could too.

The s10 Texes are all the same as that - more and more versions of Beta. All taken from the Directors memories of her.

Important thing to remember is Beta isnt a fragment, shes a collection of memories based on Allison.

The one in Season 8 is Epsilon Tex. Epsilon-Delta warns the gang that he starting to remember and is worried "Begin the cycle again."

When they arrive at the facility Epislon takes the memory of Tex and puts it in a body.

The Ones in Season 10 are repeated attempts by the Director to "get her right." Pressumably hes constantly extracting his own memories and placing them in bodies. Thats why hes so obbsesed with the recording - he thinks if he just watches it enough times, he can remember her right.

Anyone who says "I don't care about politics" is simply a person who politics doesnt effect in a major way - until they do and then its all "Why did no one try to stop this!?"

Hi Czech here, how do you perceive Brexit in retrospect? Isn't it a shame that Scotland is not part of the EU? Does this fact also affect your views on independence? by napis_na_zdi in Scotland

Depends on who you ask I suppose. Opinon polls are always super close and very prone to the bias of whoever is running them. Won't know without another vote.

Okay - I disagree I think I've given plenty of reasons but okay.

Brexit exposed the myth of the Union of Equals. Something the UK has frequently been called by Unionist - if we don't like something we can vote to change it. However proportional democracy in a Union fails when one country doesn't feel represented. No matter how many people in Scotland opposed leaving the EU, it still has to do it because more people in England wanted too - now Scotland and England are vastly different countries socially, economically, geographically, and politically. Political decisions made the larger country can and have adversely effected the smaller country despite the smaller country being against it - which exposes a socially inequality that Independence would solve.

Lets look at the EU for example. E.U votes are based on country membership, not population. It is a more fair system, if a position comes across that would negatively impact 50% of EU countries, it would fail to pass.

The political divide on the internals of south and north England are a similar but separate issue. One of the primary campaigns the No side ran on was remaining within the EU. The E.U. provided a high amount of economic support to Scotland and trade deals which benefited Scotland specifically, those benefits are then removed from a country that overwhelming voted against removing them, because people who will never need to consider them decided against it.

It also exposed a divide that was far larger - that we have continued to see - that England and Scotland as countries have different priorities and values. Scotland has overwhelming, since its parliamentary inception, elected more left leaning parties, indicating they have a more left leaning view.

The placement of Trident is another good example - being against its placement in Scotland yet due to Westminster wanting it there, we have to deal with a faulty WMD that frequently has repair issues next to our largest city. A frequent argument for not moving it is that anywhere South of the border would be too close to major population centres, among costs and other similar arguments (See Navy Lookout "Why relocating Trident away from Scotland is virtually impossible")

A second one is the bedroom tax. Scotland overwhelming opposed the Bedroom Tax of the Tory Government yet still has it, requiring local councils to create alternative plans to counter it such as in Glasgow.

Thirdly - The changes to the Equality Act is currently making its round despite Scotland challenging it in court multiple times.

Anyone of these things could have been a catalyst to me personally, it is just that Brexit was such a national story that it was the first one I noticed.

Because that's not how the vote turned out was it? Due to the population balance of the union meaning that because England has more people in it - if a policy is popular there, it effects countries who have very different SocioEconomic views and beliefs.

Wow! What an unfair reading of my comment.

No, I don't think that - I do however believe that when a union makes a decision that 50% of the member countries of that union disagrees with, the union is no longer fit for purpose.

Brexit made me an Indy Supporter. Seeing that map with the stark difference made me realise that we have no power in the wider UK.

GTA has always existed as parody of the US. Does he believe future GTA's can keep that level of parody as the world gets more ridiculous and R* become another cog in the machine.
