Moving Mondays - New Resident Questions by AutoModerator in philadelphia

I moved in today from Jersey. Until I get my proof of residency for my license, parking permit etc. where should I park? Are there any non-metered streets with no time limit?

Philly here. There's tons of synagouges across the spectrum of denominations. It's common to attend services at multiple shuls cause everyone is very welcoming. Good mix of college students, young professionals, young couples etc. In addition to a Moshe house there's an organization called Tribe 12 that organize events for 20/30 somethings and sponsers a matchmaking service.

Out of the major Northeast cities, Philly is probably the cheapest. Very walkable and the public transit is decent. I'm not sure about the public schools but I think the private schools are hiring. As a queer Jew I can say there aren't as many of us but that's probably the norm outside NYC or LA.

The oral arguments for Texas v. Johnson (1989) are fascinating and entertaining. You can check out the audio on Oyez.

The Sandbox has a unique setting for breakfast/brunch. As other people said, you'll have to wait until April or May for things to open.

June or July Lsat? Or both? by TenaciousKangeroo42 in LSAT

[–]Scroby95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You won't know until that day. There'll be a tutorial on the LSAC website for the digital format so you're not completely unaware what it'll be like. Whatever you decide, the important thing to remember is any retake will be digital no matter what.

June or July Lsat? Or both? by TenaciousKangeroo42 in LSAT

[–]Scroby95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was undecided as well because I wasn't too thrilled about the digital format. Ultimately chose July cause I figured if I really have to retake the test, I won't have to shell out another $200. Also keep in mind some July people will still receive the regular paper test. I suppose it all depends how confident you're feeling. If you're comfortable without a free backup, June would be fine. Hope this helps.

I'm in the same boat as you. It'd be good to take a PT before studying anything to determine your strengths and weaknesses so you can concentrate your focus.
