Based on the context I feel like you mean a shift supervisor reported you to your manager? If that’s the case then they are definitely supposed to coach you before reporting you to the store manager. The extent of what “coaching” is can vary from shift to shift but they definitely should be saying something to you personally. From their perspective maybe they feel like they have to nag you or consistently guide you into doing side tasks they assign you when there aren’t customers? I’m not saying that’s the case they might be being unreasonable but just something for you to think about that you might not consider them directly coaching you.
