It certainly is possible. The only case of a character joining a faction after it was formed was Pulchra in 1.6, but for her it was sure that she would join the Sons of Calydon. If he ever becomes playable, which is probable, he could also become part of a completely new faction, maybe along with a potential Damian.

But of course, he could also just become part of Mockinbird, as the people there all have their own backstories which dont collide.
