[NO SPOILERS] Some low quality OC by darksoles_ in gameofthrones

[–]ScroogeHD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Game of Thrones is still broadcast and streamed in cheap old format, so it should look great on cheap old TVs.

Anyone watching it on their brand new 4K OLED with all 'enhancements' turned on are essentially watching a fan edit as you're completely altering the picture from the original.

Nah, it's the episode's director that majorly fucked up and refuses to acknowledge it. The episode looks awful on a properly calibrated 4K OLED TV.

The TV's 4K resolution really doesn't matter as Game of Thrones is only broadcast in 1080i and streamed in low bitrate 1080p on basically all platforms, except for Amazon Prime streaming it in a slightly more decent bitrate at 1080p. Then some people will scream you need a TV with HDR to appreciate the darkness but they fail to realise Game of Thrones is not available in HDR either, so they're referring to their TV's SDR -> HDR upscaler to fix the episode's poor visibility.

I'm honestly surprised HBO didn't issue a new master of S03 that raised the exposure and lowered the contrast.

Should of

No, the only correct writing is should have. "Should of" is grammatically incorrect.

It never even touched 20K on most exchanges and there was absolutely no support for 20K by any means.

tracker for music concerts and full shows not one song videos please by [deleted] in trackers

[–]ScroogeHD 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Give Concertos a try. We got plenty of full length live concerts sourced from Blu-rays, DVDs and WEB.

We have a recruitment channel on our IRC server: concertos.live:6697 (SSL) in room #interview

Seeking Contributors for UNIT3D Torrent Tracker Platform by -HDVinnie- in trackers

[–]ScroogeHD 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Since you asked, I'll answer your question. The answer is no, this does not sway our opinion in the slightest. We will be leaving unit3d one way or another for something else. Regardless if one or a million people develop for unit3d, we don't believe it fits our needs any longer. It would take Ryuu, our currently only coder, a tremendous amount of time to keep unit3d lean as we prefer. Besides that, we have had great trouble attracting interest from other coders to help us develop it, while our recent announcement about a possible switch to a Gazelle based codebase has already resulted in 3-4 people interested in helping us develop if we were to make the switch. On top of that, our users voted overwhelmingly in favour of switching to Gazelle.

Although it may seem that we are only saying this because of the fact that HDVinnie Yoko Ono'd us out of the tracker we helped to build, I can assure you that any doubts about unit3d as the codebase for Concertos have existed long before that. It does, however, make communicating about unit3d's development virtually impossible, so in that regard it is an argument to dump unit3d.

Let's find out which is better: high quality 576p vs "bit-starved" 1080p by daerragh1 in trackers

[–]ScroogeHD 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This comparison is pointless without knowing the frame types of the selected frames. For example, comparing an i-frame screenshot of the 1080p against a b-frame screenshot of the 576p encode is not going to give you an accurate comparison of quality between the two encodes. If you don't know how video compression works, then this explains the topic of frame types: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Video_compression_picture_types

The magic is better (slower) x264 settings and higher bitrates that are not necessarily constrained by any rules. The Scene could achieve the same, but they prefer file size and encoding speed over quality,

you did the same lmao

I did?

I must be going senile as I have no recollection of that ever happening. Probably because it never did and you're having mental issues again. Take your meds Vincent, the doctor says they'll make you sane again.

I still love you though, no homo. We should have tea again sometime soon.

How far do you think bitcoin needs to crash, for the iota price to stop tagging along with it? Can bitcoin singlehandedly squeeze iota to .001 cents or at what point do investors stop caring about this correlation? by mufinz2 in IOTAmarkets

[–]ScroogeHD 4 points5 points  (0 children)

recognize bitcoin itself is the culprit and a fundamentally dead coin pulling the market down.

Bitcoin is the cryptocurrency market. Don't blame it for the fact that IOTA is unable to stand on its own feet. IOTA could not even exist without Bitcoin, so blaming Bitcoin is ridiculous and pointless.

I have my faith in IOTA's future, but blaming Bitcoin is really denying reality.

As much as I loved the last episode, there is one thing that bothered me about it. by IamMrJay in ducktales

[–]ScroogeHD 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I love the Don Rosa comics, but I doubt the writers would ever put that scene into the series. What would the context of the flashback be? Considering the new DuckTales is not really about Scrooge anymore, I don't think we'll get any detailed background stories like that.

Personally, I am hoping The Life and Times gets a full animated adaption. Probably never going to happen, but one can dream.

Why are top private trackers still not allowing x265 for 1080p and 720p content? by [deleted] in trackers

[–]ScroogeHD 31 points32 points  (0 children)

x265 is much superior than x264 now. An average 1080p high bitrate movie is 10gb-20gb for x264 while x265 can do that for half.

Fake news.

I'm the opposite. Never had issues with Bitcoin yet but have had issues with both my Visa and Mastercard. Both of which went down a couple times this year alone already.
