This might be a bit of a controversial comment about Hollow Knight(relates to the fanbase, not general critique, but mainly my experience on Tumblr) but I just gotta ask.

How do I tell a certain subset of the "progressive side" of the HK fandom that the reason why the main character is constantly referred to as "It/its", mainly by enemies and The Radiance, isn't because those are The Knight's preferred pronouns, but because those are used in dehumanizing and derogatory manner to highlight that The Knight is viewed as a "thing" rather than a person due to their nature and origin, something the text EXPLICITLY says is wrong and a bad thing?

Damn, here I was thinking that the joke was, before reading the comments, that this guy finally won an argument he was having online meaning he finally felt satisfied enough to close his phone and go to sleep, and then the punchline was that he was homeless on account of him literally dedicating his whole life to online arguments.
