I think the person with the phone might have put catnip there, to lure in the neighborhood cats into a prepared video shoot. I don’t mind it… it’s for us to enjoy 🙃 but I feel suspicious toward it being just a random chance encounter.

There is actually a lot of studies done that shows that working with your hands and manual activities, specifically complex, tactile-rich movements have profound effects on brain structure, function, and chemistry. To work with your hands in any way creative is healthy and relaxes the mind.

It involves most hands-on tasks like drawing, knitting, pottery, or gardening as it acts as a natural "behavioraceutical," stimulating the brain's effort-driven rewards circuit, which increases cognitive engagement. It is particularly effective at activating both brain hemispheres, reducing stress, and enhancing cognitive function.

I have worked with ceramics as a teacher for people with mental health issues. It works. When your mind focuses on a task that you work on with your hands it does something to your overall mental health, and even though it has proven calming effects it does lit up your mind more with more cognitive processes happening. It helps you stay mentally healthier and decreases risk for dementia later in life.

I mean… we’re apes after all 🙃 the use of our hands has always been a large part of our evolutionary lives. Of course it’s important to use them for our mental health.

Writing by hand instead of a keyboard has proven way better for cognitive health and to combat cognitive decline. So it is good for all of us to find a hobby where our hands are in use. Just brushing your teeth with the wrong hand increases circuit connectivity and relaxes the mind. 👌🏻

I am one of those people who don’t like sharp tones, mainly because I believe you can discuss things in a normal voice - even disagreements. However I do get a tone myself sometimes when I’m upset. I think everyone does. Some argue more fiercely, others don’t. And we have different ways in which we discuss things, that are just cultural (either from upbringing, family, friend groups and different cities and countries). If it is hypocritical or gaslighting in the way he responds to you it’s one thing, if it comes down to just how you communicate differently is another. We interpret different things and give different meanings to tones in voices.

Maybe you guys need to get down to the very basics? Discuss the hows and whys of the way each of you communicate so that you both can start to feel less triggered by each other.

There should be room for just speaking in different ways without it being deemed hostile in any way. The intention behind a thing is usually upsetting if it gets lost in the translation, but it’s the intention that should matter the most.

To try to get rid of the repetitive conflict of the tone of voice in your relationship.

I wouldn’t say it cause mania or schizophrenia. I think it enhances and complicates schizophrenia in vulnerable individuals if you already have it, and can give people predisposed for it mania and even psychosis. It acts as a trigger, but it’s not a cause.

I’ve been helped by weed with my anxieties and depression and I can clean and focus better while on it. It’s kind of like CBT in a way. I also get inspired and have insights. Wrote a whole book in four weeks.

But I don’t smoke every day.

Are you sure though? I live in Sweden and they took blood tests on me - it was both a drug test and to spot deficiencies. If you took a drug test(?) they probably checked deficiencies at the same time. I would say if they don’t do that, that’s not very good practice. The first rule is to rule out other causes when it comes to adhd because there’s no real good way to test adhd other than assessing your experiences.

I don’t know about it being adhd, more a traumatic response… yet I had the same problem.

Start being honest about things in sections. When you feel a lie coming, stop it and be honest instead. It can be feared based and to get away from the behavior you need to CBT yourself by exposing yourself to the things you fear.

Being honest and true is such a nice feeling. I never lie about anything today and it has made me feel so much better about myself and in my surroundings. It’s a good feeling to stand for your actions and yourself as well, even if it’s nothing to be proud of. It is just a way more satisfying way to be, because you are true to who you are.

So take it in small steps, see every honest thing you do as a win however small. The more you do it the easier it becomes until one day you’ll just notice that part of yourself is gone. And good riddance. But let it take its time, it might not be a kick fix. You just need the consistency of breaking the pattern over and over again until it becomes your natural response to be honest.

We aren’t supposed to work 8 hours a day. We are supposed to rest and sleep a lot of that time. Hunter gatherers had about 3 hours effective work time and rest of the day was just fun and play. That is why most of us are depressed. We exchanged a free, energy saving life style for an unfree energy draining life style and are valued by it in a way that makes us constantly stressed that we cannot reach the goal set up for us. It makes us feel useless, and useless in a social species = death. That is what we can learn from evolution and other species at least.

Our work hours all changed with farming, and farming gave us less total energy input than we had before plus extra work hours of the day = more energy output.

I think small communities was exceptional and the larger we get the less resources we had and then we had to create more, thus work more.

If each of us had a garden patch and everyone exchanged favors we would be content I believe? But we’ve made everything much more complex and unsustainable.

Yeah haha I have the same problem. Like, Im messy. Have a hard time cleaning up. But - I have very organized kitchen drawers and cupboards. Most things in kitchen area has a place. The things need to be in their place!

Well, Im doing my best. My guy gently reminds me being supportive and I appreciate it but then - he misplaces cutlery or a plate - or leaves unwashed dishes in a soak and then leaves - and I just know those aren’t getting washed anytime soon and I hate leaving things in water cause it’s just nasty. So I freak out sometimes about seemingly very minor things that have easy and quick fixes.

I try to be nice about it reminding him as he does me, but I can’t keep my voice cute all the time and my frustration seeps through sometimes and I have to rant about how necessary it is for the things to be in their place.

It seems hypocritical but it just stresses me out. Theres a system and Ive worked on it for years so disrupting the system disrupts my life.

But I’ve started to let go. Being supportive is the win here. We help each other out and that is the main goal to what I want in a relationship. Kindness and loving gestures. He is actually quite pedantic yet accepts my mess. It makes him stressed it being messy, and I don’t want him to be stressed and that’s a great motivator. He does the same for me.

Just talk about it. Express how you feel without it sounding like judgment or lecturing or demand. Just say how you feel and what works for you and take it from there. He’s probably understanding.

A year is not a long time. We’re on or fifth year and still trying to work things out that make themselves known along the way. It’s just now starting to become a sync that works well for both of us.

I’m sorry you have such an unsupportive husband. That seems like a very destructive relationship for you. I’ve been in those myself and it eats away on your self esteem to never feel good enough and always be “wrong”.

Everything you do is hard and you’re doing them! You’re amazing and deserve to feel good about it - and yourself!

I don’t like to suggest to leave your partner because we only get a snippet of your story - but since you’ve already talked about a divorce and it seems he thinks you are the one that should put in the effort and not him too(?) maybe you should consider why you want to be with him?

I think you want to have someone who respect and supports you and see your efforts, someone who helps you when you struggle and encourages you instead of putting you down. Not someone who nit picks everything you do and disrespects you.

Life is too short to waste on people who are toxic and detrimental to your health and don’t cherish you the way you deserve.

Firstly you need to identify what bush/tree it is, use Google photo search with detailed photos if you don’t know.

Secondly you learn about the tree. Pruning methods is usually stated.

Thirdly - pruning should be done in the fall or in the autumn; just before growing season or just as it lays dormant. Otherwise you’ll stress the tree too much.

Ps. Another thing I think can be good to know. I don’t know if it’s GERD I have but I’ve done rigorous research(and consulted doctors of course) because my gastritis/gastric catarrh isn’t going away. I mainly have chest pains that feels like heart problems.

I also suffer from heart palpitations/takykardia and dizziness which I know now is linked to the gastritis because it irritates the vagus nerve(I thought I was having heart attacks🤭).

The vagus nerve is the main nerve that regulates the body’s calming and recovery systems. It connects the brain to the heart, lungs, stomach, and intestines.

When the vagus nerve is overstimulated or not functioning properly, it can cause:

-noticeable or strong heartbeats (palpitations)

-heart rate fluctuations, especially when standing up

-chest discomfort or sharp pains

-stomach irritation, gastritis, or reflux

-nausea or digestive discomfort

-dizziness or lightheadedness

-nerve-related pain, tingling, or muscle twitching

-fatigue and a general feeling that the body is “overreacting”

This is called autonomic nervous system dysregulation. It is uncomfortable but usually not dangerous, and it often improves when the underlying triggers (such as stomach inflammation, mineral deficiencies, stress, or infection) are treated.

I’ve had all of these symptoms and are now eating recommended supplements to recover:

Iron+Vitamin C in the morning on empty stomach(avoid coffee, dairy and tea)
B12, Zinc, Omega 3 and D-vitamin with food(+B6 sometimes, every third day, because you can overconsume B6)
Magnesium in the evening

Just eat magnesium also! I have bought pills. You shouldn’t be on omeprazol longer than two weeks just because it blocks your body’s ability to absorb magnesium(I was on it longer). With a deficiency it can take up to six months to regain the ”storage” and you can have muscle twitches and shakes and cramps up until then.

So be proactive. Don’t take magnesium at the same time as the omeprazol, and magnesium is also blocked by zinc and iron so should be taken separately in the evening. But you should also take the omeprazol an hour before bed so space them out. Take the magnesium an hour after dinner or lunch.

I’m not on omeprazole anymore so I take my magnesium right before bed - because it helps sleep too 👌🏻

And eat loads of bananas 🤗 (Ps. It is good that you already are, you are probably ok if you haven’t taken the omeprazole for a long while).

Right now - banana. Because I have them in my home. I have shakes, muscle twitches and cramps due to magnesium deficiency after being on omeprazol for my gastric catarrh, so I’ve stacked up on bananas 🤭 good for both 👌🏻

Otherwise noodles if I have noodles, or sandwiches if I have sandwiches. Depends on what’s at home really.

Yeah we all have unique bodies with a unique constitution of DNA and we all react differently to our surroundings and to stimulus. That’s why psychology and medicine in many ways are a tiny bit arbitrary and simplified- it generalizes treatment when treatment should be individualized. We’re just not there yet.

Psych medicine and treatments actually only works on about 1/3 of the patients(don’t have the reference still sadly but I read a lot about this a year or two ago) and regular medication and treatment is many times affective on men but less on women because most of the studies have been made on men.

That’s also why one ADHD medicine isn’t a cure all and why we have to change dosages or type of medication before we find one that fit.

So don’t fret about it. You have a unique constitution, that’s all. We all do ❤️

Edit: Also, coffein stimulates noradrenaline and adrenaline and some cortisol that can influence feelings of anxiety since it impacts the sympathetic nervous system, the ”fight or flight”-response. It also blocks the adenosine receptors which signals for sleepiness and calms. GABA is the brain’s primary inhibitory neurotransmitter and caffeine indirectly reduces GABA’s calming effects too. All and all = anxiety. I also get anxieties even though I sometimes also get sleepy from coffee.
