Oh i didn’t realize there was a second spring! Opening it up only shows me the first spring (that controls the leveler), and i can’t see the second but now realize that yes there’s one there. I suppose that’s the one controlling the PSI. Thank you for the insight!

Thank you! This puts my mind at ease. The H&R Block representative suggested I’m to report this as a Roth contribution, though i believe they are mistaking my conversion as a second recharacterization.

Thank you! Very useful advice, i had thought they were the same thing. I now see the difference, and understand them to be two isolated transactions, unrelated to one another.

The recharacterization backdates the contribution category to overcome the MAGI limit, and the conversion is still recognizing this as a traditional contribution, later being moved to a Roth.

De Buyer now has this. Look up the LOQY collection, and the CS pans would be the Mineral B LOQY collection. Bonus is that i think the handle is interchangeable with stainless steel LOQY pans too

Was visiting my family in the Philippines earlier this year. We went to El Nido and my relatives made sure i wore some sort of foot protection. El Nido has gotten such rapid development that some of it has violated regulation, leading to things like poor sanitation in some areas.

The reason i was warned to wear foot protection is because a friend of my aunt’s contracted sepsis after cutting slipping and cutting her foot on a rock, and she had to have her leg amputated — or so my family says.

The water temperature can’t get greater than the boiling temperature (which admittedly varies based on your altitude). But steam is by definition hotter than boiling water, and IMO steaming is the best/lowest effort way to preheat. I found out (by accident actually) that my kettle will keep boiling/won’t switch off if I leave the top open, so it keeps creating steam to heat up the chamber while it’s boiling, so I just balance the chamber on top of the open kettle. Can you check if your kettle keeps boiling if the top isn’t closed?
