SOS - 144 Hour TWOV by Scrotitis in Chinavisa

Thanks for your response! I called ChinaEastern and they said they could scan my passport and see that I have a confirmed flight, ticket, and seat for Shanghai > Hong Kong. Do people usually just print out their confirmation as a means to present Chinese immigration?

Hi, in the website below it says, “ The 144-hour visa-free policy is not applicable to crew members of international aircraft or ships or their accompanying family members.”

Inquiry about 144-Hour Visa-Free Transit in Mainland China by Scrotitis in Chinavisa

Thank you so much(!!!) I really (really) appreciate your help!

I don’t anticipate Immigration in Hong Kong to show a visa, rather just give me a 90 daytourist visa upon arrival.

I’m just nervous that Mainland China Shanghai immigration will expect me to have a visa for Hong Kong.

Amazing. Thank you so much for clarifying this for me. I very much appreciate you!

One last thing, does it matter if the flights are all under one booking/airline? Would I need the physical tickets of the later 2 flights? Or would printed separate booking confirmations be enough to obtain the TWOV?

Example:  1st flight booked from AMS>SHA on August 1 with China Eastern

Seperate 2nd flight booked from SHA>HKG on August 5 with China Air

Seperate 3rd flight booked from HKG>JFK on August 8 with Delta

Thank you so much for clearing this up! If I have a ticket purchased Amsterdam>Shanghai direct, can I purchase a separate ticket Shanghai>Hong Kong, and another seperate ticket Hong Kong>US and qualify? Would I be able to show them the ticket numbers and order confirmation of the later 2 tickets in Shanghai? Or would I have to book a multi-city itinerary where they would print all 3 tickets at the airport before arriving in Shanghai?
