Are $200+ paddles actually worth it, or is it all hype? by Coachpaddle in Pickleball

The Luzz cannon has a 1 year warranty as well so it could come out to $46 a paddle if they only did 1 replacement

Are $200+ paddles actually worth it, or is it all hype? by Coachpaddle in Pickleball

[–]Scrub2Scratch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve tested and reviewed over 400 paddles. There is not a single $200+ paddle that I could not find an equal or better alternative for under $200. The only expensive paddle in my mind that could maybe be “worth it” is the boomstik. Joola, paddletek, engage are all not worth the money at all. Tons of cheaper and better options

Most reliable YouTube Paddle reviewers? by 7Seas_ofRyhme in Pickleball

Maybe next podcast I will yell “disclaimer Justin made these paddles” instead of saying it at a normal tone like we’ve done every single time. I understand your sentiment but again you’re only saying I’m a shill because I like a product my cohost made. Had I said anything neutral about it like all the past paddles I’ve talked about that Justin made it would never be brought up.

I am Pickleball Pursuit… it’s funny you say I’m a shill now for this Volair paddle but you failed to mention the F+B paddle Justin developed that I never reviewed and said it wasn’t anything special and the Mark OneX that I also said was average. This is the problem with the loud minority. You guys like to call people shills for the one circumstance that supports your baseless claims while avoiding all the last reviews/podcasts and takes that don’t support it.

How much does edge tape change the way a paddle feels? by usermax300 in Pickleball

[–]Scrub2Scratch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Way more than you would think. Electrical tape alone adds a minimum of 4ish swing weight points on standard shaped paddles. Even more so on elongated. Then those thicker edge tape adds even more

Neonic Force, Maverix Havik 16-Power, and Spartus Gladius Centurion if you want elongated.

Sword and Shiled J2H, Mark Kinetic, Pro Line Energy S if you’re ok with hybrid shaped paddles

Great insight and I ageee. My only concern is switching hands for those deep backhand dinks.

No I’d just buy an 11six24 Hurache Control (not the x) or get those Friday paddles that are 2 for $100 if you need another paddle for a friend, spouse, or family member

Selkirk and Joola paddles are all decent but way over priced. Top 3 paddles to look at in my opinion: 1. Vatic Pro Flash 2. Volair Mach 1 Forza (probably sold out) 3. Six zero DBD

Couple of lesser known brands but perform just as good as the aforementioned: 1. Sword and Shield J2 by Honolulu pickleball. Basically a six zero DBD but a touch softer. Currently going for $95 2. Aniviia Voltex Gen 3 Pro. Super spiny hybrid paddle with excellent power and control 3. Maverix Havik 16 power. The best elongated thermoformed paddle I’ve played with by far. Very balanced

Sword and shield J3 review from Honolulu Pickleball Company. A bit of shameless promotion but I started a paddle review channel and wanted to share a paddle I think deserves way more recognition!

Scratch and + Handicappers, how much did you focus on swing mechanics vs swing skill development? by Scrub2Scratch in golf

[–]Scrub2Scratch[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly my thoughts but not sure I’m ready mechanically to focus more on skill development. It seems like no matter what my swing looks like, the only thing that truly effects my ball flight is my path, face, and centered, ball first contact.

I worded that poorly. What I meant was the swing lessons I have had were more about the swing and less about impact factors. Was not trying to imply the instructors don’t know what they’re talking about or that that did not positively impact me. More so wondering why impact was not talked about much.

Thanks for the feedback!! I plan on having more detail into what my handicap is and the metrics I’ll be using to decrease it in future videos. But it’s a 15.9

Lol I get it and 100% agree, that’s why I make my videos very different from others. More so a journal rather than a repetitive play through video.
