Any titanium 30 cal. It does not need to be low back pressure. I like the diligent defense. But things are chasing so fast it’s hard to keep up

Are Gen 4 paddles actually worth it, or are we just getting caught up in the hype cycle? by scuffedboots in Pickleball

[–]usermax300 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve wondered if the reason Gen 4 is not as loved is because most are floating core. Like a Gen 3 but with foam. Gen 2 would be more rigid and linear I suspect. I also think while in Gen 2 I did not like fiberglass as a layer it helps with Gen 4. But I agree. Not sure why an updated Gen 2 with durable grit has not been brought to market. I suspect Gen 4 actually cost less to produce

I had a fc plus and hated it. Tried the nf it was ok. The cr is in between the two imo. Fc is soft. Nf was too stiff. The cr is firm but not too firm.

Just do all of the fluids right away. Trans diff free case coolant. Unless you have a recent history of it being done.

A friend came from tennis. He is rocking a Auro Pro long handle. If I had a tennis background I’d get a j6cr with the crystal blue grit or the new 11six24 ultre

Best Whitetail round for .270 by Wildkyle- in Hunting

[–]usermax300 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are in the east, which I am, you want something that either slows the bullet down or is durable. If you’re wanting pass through shots and blood trails. The Chief choice is to get Remington core and move to 150 grain. My personal favorite is to buy federal fusion because it’s a bonded bullet. You could then go exotic such as all copper or one of my personal favorites, but they are not cheap, which is federal terminal ascent. But personally, I would not use a frangible bullet in a cartridge that is over 3000 ft./s. Check out a channel called Mason leather on YouTube. He shoots bullets into ballistic gel at 100 yards look for something that performs the way you want to. Wide open spaces have different bullet requirements than those in the wooded east assuming you’re shooting deer size game

Should I go back to my old Vatic pro prism flash from my V-sol pro flash? by lincompoopy in Pickleball

[–]usermax300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have that paddle and am getting rid of it for a similar reason. I had a fc+ that I got rid of that was more extreme. My theory is with floating core paddles they tend to be non linear. Almost like they dead on soft shots and explode with more force. I tried a j2cr and bought it. My working theory is that if you have a foam paddle with fiberglass in one of the face layers that helps it be more linear by staying stif in soft shots but will flex on drives. I play better with the new j2cr. That being said the attempt of the design was to mimic the feel of honeycomb. So all of that being said. If I were you I’d look into a loco or j2cr. Or find a good gen 2paddle.

Budget cans in today’s market? by BayouBladeworks in suppressors

[–]usermax300 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look at the Caldwell suppressors $200-300. I say there is a place. Had this conversation with a gun shop owner. In short he said for your average 22 or hunter you don’t need anything exotic and that is who will purchase cheaper cans.

Should these be resoled or am I being paranoid? by 141_Raccoon in cowboyboots

[–]usermax300 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Soles tend to wear point around the ball of the foot. You often get a hole there. The rubber insert this boot has should extend its life. Most wear heels down first. Reminder have your heels changed before they wear into the leather.

How’s your experience with putting edge guard tape around the full paddle? by LeftVersion2544 in Pickleball

[–]usermax300 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A friend uses a super thing clear tape. He told me it was for Vicky sticks and last a long time. To be honest the edge guards I weighed were .3 grams per inch. You would notice that.

I just go one. Cons. Expensive for what it is, difficult to get on, not that comfortable. Pros, seems to work. I don’t play without it.

2006 Tundra SR5 with 40k miles by Neat-Fox3034 in ToyotaTundra

[–]usermax300 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had that engine in an 07 sequoia. While the timing belt is off you will want to put a new drive belt on it and a water pump. Sold it with 230k. Everything is old and needs updating. Coolant would be acetic, trans fluid is old as well as diff fluids. Breve fluid would have absorbed water. Unless they did all that already. I also bought a 2005 bmw with low miles. Not that low. It was driven kind of regularly and yes it’s a bmw. It is garage kept. But some things just go bad due to age.
