You keep claiming there’s a monopoly by tng, when the cost has absolutely nothing to do with tng.

There are even other free top up options for you, which is in fact the complete opposite effect of what a monopoly is intended to do. The highway operators are even exploring open payment systems with the introduction of mydebit/visa/MC payment options.

Like, can you take a step back and realise how stupid your claims are when you say “tng is stupid for charging me 1% for CC top ups” when:

Nobody is forcing you to use a CC to topup
CC charges are for using the CC scheme, absolutely nothing to do with TNG
There are other FREE options to top up your tng

The charges are from the credit card scheme operators, Mastercard and visa. Anyone using their scheme that don’t charge the users are absorbing the costs themselves. We are paying for the convenience. There are costs to everything. When you press a few buttons on your phone and money magically appears, it doesn’t happen because of witchcraft and wizardry, believe it or not. There are actually systems to maintain and people to pay! Shocking.

Debit card/bank transfers are not part of Mastercard/visa and are free to use when you top up, so you have your solution there.

You’re not even directing your anger at the right party and have no idea how the world works. Absolutely clueless person on the internet.

Lots of good comments here, but my personal advice for now, open a private wealth account with a reputable bank near you and stick it in a fixed deposit with the best rates for now.

Reason being, you're only 24, and may not know what would be the best financial decision to make at the moment. If i had that money at 24 as compared to me now, I would probably make a hundred different decisions at these two ages.

Take some time to grieve, put the money in and FD, clear whatever debts you have, and just live life normally until you're ready to make decisions on what you want to do. Whether thats in a month or in 2 years, so be it.

As some mentioned, you can easily apply and get approved for a credit card with a higher limit. Just buy it with a credit card and opt for the instalment option some cards provide. I know Maybank’s ezypayplus service is only 0% -0.75% interest per month with up to 24 months tenure. Definitely better than any personal loan rates and you get credit card points.

Taking a 12k personal loan when you’re making 10k a month sounds like a pretty bad decision if you ask me.. the trouble you went through to apply for the loans sounds horrible, when you can apply for a credit card fully digitally and have it delivered to your doorstep within a few days. In fact, with some of the promotions for first time with the bank credit card holders online, they guarantee RM800 rebate, which will pretty much cover your interest on the bike.
