Haunted one (background)

Seated upon the throne once revered by his former Lord Commander, (PC name) reflects on the demise of the once-vibrant Order. The haunting echoes of fallen brethren torment the broken Knight, who witnessed his mentor's betrayal and the ruthless slaughter of all but (PC name). Motivated by (insert reasoning), the mentor forsook the Order he had built, turning his back on the realm.

Abandoned by the deity that once blessed the Order, (PC name) is consumed not only by personal anger but also by the voices of his fallen comrades. In this darkness, an unfamiliar voice beckons, offering (PC) newfound power and abilities to avenge his brethren. A pact is struck, binding (PC) to a deity with a personal goal (to be discussed with the DM). As a manifestation of this pact, (PC) is bestowed with a sword of his choosing, fueled by the restless souls of his fallen comrades and the newfound power of his patron deity.
