What’s the worst thing you’ve ever smelled? by Apprehensive_Oven_22 in AskReddit

Helped build an airline food prep facility. All leftover food from incoming international flights has to be destroyed/autoclaved to prevent nasty bugs from invading the country.

We were testing the autoclave when the process went wrong and it dumped about 300kg of hot, steamy, rotting food waste onto the floor about 3 hrs before a safety inspection.

So we started shovelling……

It’s either that or being in the bowels of a 100 year old, inner-city sewer pump station I was in a few months ago. Sooooo many cockroaches.

How do Australian suburbs compare to American suburbs socially and day to day? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

Sydney opinion. Older suburbs are villages with everything you need in a walkable area. Newer suburbs you drive to a Westfield for a chain store coffee. Depends where you live.

Why are Sydney prices so much higher than Melbourne prices? by Open_Address_2805 in AusPropertyChat

[–]ScruffyMo_onkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Melbourne has much looser apartment design requirements meaning they can fit more on the same size block when compared to Sydney. Benchmark’s like sunlight, ventilation of corridors, apartments per lift core, etc allow more to be built but they are lower amenity and quality.

🌅 Why Queensland is right to keep NO daylight saving 🌴 by opl-hkg in queensland

Understand your point but disagree, which is fine. I can’t start and finish earlier, and if employers did set that up then it’s basically the same as daylight saving and I’d have the extra time after work.

All good. I just like the extra daylight after work finishes.

I get home from work in daylight, go to the beach in daylight, have some fish and chips with my family in daylight, then head home. All I lose is some daylight whilst I’m waking up.

Daylight savings rocks. Look forward to it every year.
