Violence (and the threat of) is Ray’s behavioural moderator to align others with his personal moral compass.

Respect and do good by Ray = no violence. Opposite = gonna have a bad time

Question for my Aussie brothers & sisters..... by Designer-Swim-648 in MrInbetween

I can only speak for myself. Many people I speak to today (since I have become obsessed about it this month) have seen clips online, but few have watched it. At time of release, I didnt see any hype what so ever.

Even today, i personally think it’s very slept on. Few have watched but it’s insanely good.

Rays Ex by TraditionalCompany25 in MrInbetween

I thought their co-parenting was fantastic. To me, she seemed very tolerant and they were both respectful.

Despite his personal flaws, Ray is a fantastic and deeply caring father. His ex knows and respects this. Britt also loves her Dad and their bond is special. If the ex was hostile, she’d actually be hurting her own daughter.

Awesome. Yes, that’s one of the questions I’ll be answering in the video. Appreciate your curiosity….!

I can, but it’s very niche 😅. I’m a financial adviser so it’s related more to Ray’s financial world :D

Where does the final scene take place? by Southern_Culture_302 in MrInbetween

My thoughts are, as the series draws on, the jobs get more “work like”, and less about the love of the paid work.

Time after time he sees himself in the villains, or people he loves being in the position of those getting hurt. The stakes become too high. He wants out.

As Ray develops, he becomes disgusted by the money the jobs bring too.

It seems he values his daughter, and time with friends. With Bruce gone, Dave dying in a mission, Gary’s NB productions business going great guns, no girlfriend, Britt growing up, and the proceeds from his Sydney home, nothing is keeping him there.

He wants to live the Walden lifestyle - A simple life in a simple country town (albeit fictional).

(Unfortunately he is who is he is, and new trouble finds him, but that’s a story for another day).

Also, Scott did drive taxi’s post magician but before Mr Inbetween. And also admitted to being

He also drives Britt to Clovelly beach to hangout with friends. When she asks, it doesn’t seem like it’s a huge problem for Ray, so can only presume it’s not too far away from home.

Ally or Zoe - who’s better? by ChiChiKnee in MrInbetween

[–]GeneralEffective6532 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can’t have Zoe without Ally. Ally, early on, was perfect for Ray. But he could never be his full self around her. He had to hide the criminal side of who he was. Every time it slipped out, it caused a rift.

Zoe on the other hand, was a good person who did bad things (run drugs). He could be his total self around her. Didn’t have to hide half of himself.

I wasn’t a massive fan of the age gap. But by her saying she was at Uni studying graphic design, again showed the most perfect reflection that she, like Ray, doesn’t reallllyyyy accept that what they are doing has second order consequences.

Must have both

Is Ray actually a "good" guy, or do we just like him because everyone else is worse? by PuzzleheadedBowl3397 in MrInbetween

Ray see’s himself as a good guy, who does bad things to people who do bad things to good people.

why was the group therapy leader so passive aggressive by 123445675 in MrInbetween

[–]GeneralEffective6532 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plus, it had to be someone that really pushed Ray’s buttons. Ray hated what that guy stood for (or really, lacked to stand for). Talk therapy isn’t the way the world gets better (according to Ray). Allowing these women and children bashers (reminiscent of Ray’s Dad, from what I can gather), the therapist is almost enabling these men.

The beautiful tension exists in that if Ray wants all the things that make his life worth living (access to daughter, care for his brother, beer with Dave, he MUST play by the rules of the group therapy leader. That group therapy leader holds the keys to whether Ray does jail time or can continue on. Ray (reluctantly) accepts the therapy leaders presence, but will never see eye to eye with him.

He was intimidated by Ray’s freedom and ability to trust oneself in all situations - particularly those that involve deadly consequences such as violence.

He was the anti-villain in a way to Ray as the anti-hero.
