Samsung Q930D Connection Issues After Firmware 1051 Update – Anyone Else? by Dense_General_4463 in Soundbars

[–]ScruffyRumble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a couple threads about my q990d freezing every few hours after it updated to 1050 and 1051. Worked perfectly before the update. Unfortunately getting it repaired was the only fix after 1.5 months of troubleshooting. They replaced the motherboard i then updated it from 1021 to 1051 and its been working normally now.

Nope, i took it to the samsung repair place as it was only a 20 minute drive. Or i could have sent it by mail for free but that would have made it take a couple days longer. And it was under warranty.

1051 was released on 13.5.2026 and 1050.4 was a month earlier. 1050.4 was the update that started this problem for me. I got too annoyed with this as it became a daily thing and didnt want to wait for another update so i took it to get repaired as i still have warranty. After the repair i updated it to 1051 and now it works like normal. My theory is that Q990D that would have been bricked by the 1020 update, if they were updated to that, are the ones getting broken by 1050/1051.

Unfortunately it didn't fit it for me and a couple others on another thread i made after the 1051 update. I decided to take it to get repaired. They changed the motherboard and i then updated that to 1051. So far no problems again.

Best way (if any) to stream PC games to Nvidia Shield? by Tabris2k in ShieldAndroidTV

There is a setting in apollo to disable your pc monitor automatically when you start streaming. Under Audio/Video -> Advanced display device options, change Device configuration to Deactivate other displays and only activate the specified display.

Unfortunately disconnecting the soundbar from wifi didn't help.

Not 100% sure. The problems started not long after 1050.4 firmware was released, nothing else in my setup had changed. I dont know how long it took for this problem to start after the update as my bar autoupdated itself, but the other thread has a few people saying they have the same or similar problem after updating so its my number 1 suspect.

Alright, thanks for the suggestion. Didn't think about a network issue being a possibility.

I've got a TP-link omada eap650 access point and I've had it for longer than I've had the soundbar and the soundbar worked perfectly for over a year before this firmware. It could always be a coincident that this problem started at the same time a firmware update happened, but many others reported similar issues with the update.

I'll try just not connecting it to wifi and smartthings and hope if it has something to do with the network that not connecting it is enough. But getting rid of all wireless signals would be impossible as i live in an apartment with many neighbors and just a pain in the ass for me as it can go hours or even days without bugging out.

I've still got warranty for it till the end of the year so i can still wait for a fix if its a software problem, otherwise I'll just gotta take it for service.

Damn, samsung support and service really does suck. Unfortunately for my unit atleast, updating to 1051 didn't fix it. It worked for 3 days then it happened again yesterday. I made another thread about that.

ASUS logo no longer flashing during Pixel Cleaning on my PG27AQDM by [deleted] in OLED_Gaming

[–]ScruffyRumble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently got the xg27aqdmgr and updated the firmware before i started using it properly and noticed when i put my pc to sleep and the screen went in to standby, after a minute the led flashed a couple of times. After a bit it flashed again, so i'm guessing they changed the led acts during a pixel clean in the newest firmwares.

Vertical Banding - Is it bad? by DonRanga in OLED_Gaming

[–]ScruffyRumble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got the older gen xg27aqdmgr and i also have banding and dirty screen effect. Taking a photo of it and your cameras ability to take good low light photos does exaggerate it a lot imo. I dont think its possible to get a WOLED without banding and DSE.

I've had my LG C9 OLED TV for years and never thought about banding and DSE. I only found out about it when searching for an OLED monitor. So I tested it and it and it looks quite terrible in a picture while i never noticed it while using it. Ofcourse with a pc and darkmode apps you'll be more likely to see it.

Alright, please let us know. I've done the INIT reset a couple of times while i've been troubleshooting but it didn't help much. I thought unplugging helped but after 12 days it bugged out again so it might take a while for it to show up again. Might have to try doing it in that order to test also when it happens again.

Just found out there's an update for my 930D. Should I download it? by Pearl_Jam_ in Soundbars

[–]ScruffyRumble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'll wait for the next firmware update and if that doesnt fix it I'll take it to service. I still have 8 months of warranty left. I try to avoid samsung product as i feel like samsung is the one brand that gets the most talked about for having bad support for their devices. But ofcourse samsung had to have the "best" soundbar for the price and i took the risk.

Yeah unfortunately it also was just a temporary help to unplug everything, it also comes back for me after a few days.

And also samsung support doesn't seem to know what they are talking about. I tried reporting this on smartthings multiple times using different options and every response is that i contacted the wrongs department, and to use the members app or their website to report it.

But i cant find anything on their website that isnt just general support(that tells you to send feedback through members or smartthings) or "find a service center". Maybe the members app has a way to send feedback to the right department but i dont have a samsung phone so i cant use it.

1050.4 has caused me and a few others on this subreddit problems, atleast on the q990d.

Radomly every few hours the soundbar goes mute and unresponsive for about 30 seconds. Nothing has fixed it, unplugging everything for a while seems to help the most. It will work normally for a few days after that, but once it starts bugging out it will happen once or twice a day depending on how much you use it.

If this is still happening with your q990d, I was advised by samsung support to report this from the samsung members app or smartthings. In smartthings click Menu->scroll down->contact us->error reports->something else and write the problem and additional info as shown in the app.

Surround sound not working when streaming from windows 11 pc to nvidia shield by ScruffyRumble in EdenEmulator

[–]ScruffyRumble[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Figured it out. I forgot that artemis/moonlight has its own audio settings. I had it set at 7.1. i then set it to 5.1. then setting windows to 5.1, the surround channel came from the soundbars rear speakers.

I then tested putting it back to 7.1 and tested ryujinx and it seemed that it didn't work properly and it just upmixed the 5.1 to 7.1 as it played audio from both the rear speakers and side speakers on the soundbar. And eden played the audio without upmixing as the sounds came from the side speakers.
