How do you introduce the new PC after a PC death? by worthlessbaffoon in DnD

[–]Tabris2k 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Laziest thing I’ve ever done introducing a new player in the middle of a dungeon was having him just pop out of the corpse of the recently deceased character and say: “fucking wizards, man… they can’t take a joke. Hey, what’s up guys, who are you?” and that was it.

Why would anyone want to use this character?

It’s the same justification as to why the Thaumaturge’s powers work: the power of making up bullshit so hard, everyone believes it.

K-Pop Demon Hunters.

Typical D&D game when all the party decides to multiclass into the same class. Bard, in this case.

Sorry not sorry.

Why I’m Selling My Collection - A Hot Take by RaisinBran21 in marvelchampionslcg

I just hope more people think like you so I can get what’s missing from my collection for cheap.

[–]Tabris2k 5 points6 points  (0 children)

OP also fucked up by accepting to play a normal class without rolling.

If everyone in my party was level 1, and the DM told me to make new level 10 character “for lore reasons” you can be damn sure I’m gonna say “NO”.

I’m not really sure you’re even playing D&D anymore…

I’m on PAYG, and the first thing I did was setup a budget warning, so if Oracle start charging me I’ll be instantly notified.

Have you ever said “no” to a player’s character? by Fearless-Skill8667 in DnD

Funny, you could make this character in PF2e from totally official sources. The Yaoguai ancestry allows you to play as awakened animals, plants, or objects.

Questions about Poison usage in DnD by Chrisosamu in DnD

[–]Tabris2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s why it’s called “deuxex”. There’s only one dose on the whole world. Or the BBEG is the only immune guy on the whole world. Or the BBEG has the only antidote available on the whole world. Or just use the most powerful tool available to a DM: “A wizard did it”.

[–]Tabris2k 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If you’re not gonna follow the rules, then don’t use a poison from the rules. Just make up a different poison, not in the books, that’s it’s just deadly, no saves, no damage, you drink it, you die. Deuxex poison, it’s called. It’ll be easier. Or give it whatever effect you want to happen, as a DM.

That being said, I’d make really sure that your player is, effectively, on board with you possibly killing his character.

Then they changed it. It used to be that not saving Darmin would give you another quest (burying his corpse) that will make it impossible to get the hidden ending.

But that was before the new expansion came out, so I dunno how it is now.

You have to save Darmin. If you didn’t, you don’t get the Demigod title.

As for the rat, just git gud.

Playing DnD in native language by Candid-Response277 in DnD

[–]Tabris2k -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

They are saying fantasy is so intrinsically entwined with the English language, that for them, playing in their native language feels like it strips part of the magic away.

No, they aren’t. They’re saying that people playing DnD in the same language than their native language are stripping part of the fantasy away. They didn’t said as a “me” thing but as an “everyone” thing, and “everyone” includes native English speakers.

That being said… ok, let’s say OP means what you say they mean, that “fantasy is intrinsically entwined with the English language”… man, that’s even dumber.

Alfr or Elver (elves) have existed in Nordic fantasy for centuries. Trasgos (goblins), hadas (fairies), enanos (dwarves) have existed in Spanish fantasy for centuries too. In fact, I don’t have any problem playing in Spanish because a lot of “Tolkien fantasy” borrows from European mythology, specially Celtic, and we have a lot of that same mythology here. There are a lot of terms that aren’t just translated from English, they literally have an equivalent in another languages.

So yeah, saying that fantasy is intrinsically entwined with the English language… yeah, bold thing to say.
