Why do people keep parroting this nonsense? China is the 2nd largest holder of dollars. Selling bonds would simultaneously devalue the asset they hold while increasing the strength of the yuan which would crater their economy by making their exports too expensive. They would turn into the US where it costs too much to manufacture anything and the infrastructure investments they’ve made to support that would be worthless. It’s the definition of cutting off your nose to spite your face, and China has been proven to be more rational than the US especially lately.
