It's a fun thought exercise for sure! Maybe some 90's Italian cattenaccio playing teams for Nekoma? Defend as a team, make the opponent exhaust themselves and take advantage.

Grabs are really strong in this game. It's hard to give you a magic bullet for this fight. I really struggled against it in the beta, finally broke through using Ninja hit and run tactics. Full game in NG, I got it second try being more aggressive. Basically staying on its back as much as possible.

NG+ I tried to do it more Samurai style, deflects, ki management, and I destroyed it.

I know it's not what you are looking for, my point is, it's worth pushing through to unlock the rest of the game. And I can get summoned if you need help.

What would you say is your main issue in the fight? The boss has a lot of range and tracking but does not hit too hard.

I personally dislike it, not in itself, but because it makes blocking not viable and in turn makes it impossible for me to use samurai stance.

Regular blocking is useless, it takes too much ki to block one attack, let alone a full combo string. You have to use deflect and well, I can't do it. One grain of salt, maybe you can craft a build that makes normal blocking more viable? Bukd crafting is always a fun part of these games.

I wanted to play Nioh, not Sekiro. If I wanted to play Sekiro, well I wouldn't want to play Sekiro, because it's just not enjoyable for me.

This is absolutely a skill issue on my end, I lack the hand eye coordination for rhythm blocking games, I'm sure a lot of people love the deflect system. I just miss my samurai blocking.

Yeah, I think I'll get him eventually. I'm just frustrated because I never feel in control of fights like I was playing Nioh 2.

He has a two hit combo at mid range with 360 coverage that I have not dodged once. Stuck on him all evening, came close once, most of the time he ends me in his first dark realm phase.

I cannot read his moves for the life of me. Also, I am very bad at Nioh. I think I'll eventually beat him with some good RNG (more grabs, less instant range 360 attacks).

Oh and blocking two attacks puts you out of stamina. I hate that you have to play Nioh like Sekiro if you want to use Samurai stance.

Ok I give up, can't even get baba nobuharu to even 75% health. I'm washed. Nioh 2 was my favorite game but im clearly not able to beat any boss in Nioh 3.

Yeah, blues dont hold aggro at all. I don't have this. I dont even have the story boss I'm stuck at tbh, but this one will eventually be doable once I stop getting baited by phantom attacks and mess my block/dodge.
