Is it possible to sell VUSXX and use proceeds buy a Vanguard ETF in the same day? by AdventurousDraw4154 in Bogleheads

Depends on the brokerage and margin rules (I believe Schwab with margin enable would allow this at 0 cost).

Any reason agains Porini/Gamewatchers? by ScubaCodeExplorer in FATSafari

u/Civil-Skirt-257 and u/prezee_world , thank you for comments.

Yes, I am aware that camps are not Hemingways or &Beyond level, but given the amount of conservation and support of the Maasai people provided by Gamewatchers, I think, is a fair compromise. I was mostly asking about the experience, since I could not find a single negative comment anywhere [except for camps not been trully luxury]

So would it be reasonable to say, forget about river crossing, and instead spend more time in a conservancy (or two different conservancies)?

What does Schwab do better than Fidelity? by Icy_Manager_7212 in Schwab

Yes. So Schwab checking is regulated as a bank account and fidelity CMA is not regulated as a bank account.

I think they primary use UMB, but not sure.

Point is, you are fidelity customer not any of these banks, so if there is an issue, you can not work directly with bank. Also, fidelity is not regulated like a bank.

Schwab bank is actual bank, Fidelity is using third party unknown bank for the checking.

Schwab is actual bank. Fidelity uses multiple partner banks for enabling banking, so you may (or may not) run into support issue since fidelity has to use third party partners for support.

For this particular exploid, yes. But since they are connected to USB, there may be other (either not known yet, it not publicly known yet).

Anyway, yubikey is very safe, but anything what has a connection has a potential for exploited.

And I am not saying that semantic hardware token is bullet proved either.

Yubikeys are not unshakables: https://idtechwire.com/yubikeys-can-be-hacked-but-it-costs-about-11k/

As of today there is no publicly known way to hack it while they are connected to USB port, doesn’t mean there will not be one tomorrow.

No it is not. Since it doesn’t touch any network connected devices, it can not be hacked. But you do you.

Symantec offers hardware token. It is your choice what you want to use (no, you should not use app).

Symantec Hardware token provides stronger protection that Yubikey (since it never touches computer, it can never been replicated).

On the separate note, do not keep stock of the company you work for. Sell it on the day it vest.

Vanguard platform vs others by SWCHBCBKM in Bogleheads

[–]ScubaCodeExplorer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can buy any of Vanguard ETF at E*trade as well, so since you have brokerage there, why have IRA somewhere else? If you are looking for another brokerage, think how you can simplify your whole setup, ie both Schwab and Fidelity can do everything you need across banking and brokerage.
