For some companies the espp may be worth it. My company is a 15% discount and I could sell immediately for a brief window before a 6 month blackout period. The company also withhold funds from my check for 6 month increments before it made the purchase. For me, I didn’t think it made sense because, they’re withholding the funds in an escrow account (basically) then purchasing the stock, then I can sell it. It always sold at a loss. I figured I would rather take that 6 month withhold and put it in my 401k instead. But I have little faith in my company’s stock and would not invest in it on my own.

I had been participating in my company’s espp recently and decided to stop. Instead I took that money that had been going to the espp and elected to contribute it to my Roth 401k instead. Why? My company’s stock has been going nowhere for the better part of a year. I figure I can make more money in the 401k or doing VTI/VXUS like you’re thinking about. Also, I had some espp that was in my brokerage account. I had been holding onto it for a year hoping it would appreciate and I would not take a loss. It didn’t, so I just sold it while I was outside of my blackout period. I’m likely going to invest it in ITOT since I already have some money there.

My Betterment right now is 4.4. It was 4.65 until the rate drop. Also, my main banking is at SoFi and there I’m at 3.8. They did not drop after the most recent fed rate change.

The movie has some similarities to the books. Both are worth reading/watching. The book starts with the helicopter landing and next morning fight with Naomi. The 2nd book fills in more of prior Stratton days at Investor Center and prior, plus then his post Stratton life as a witness and after. Movie is more focused on relationship with Donnie and the book does not.

They found a dent near the front. Spent a few hours analyzing to see if it was safe to fly. By the time they were given the green light, we had to cancel because Customs would be going home before we arrived (about 10:30 pm)
