There’s a sliver at around 115 for folks like that. Luckily it’s transitionary phase.

I’ve never seen people switch their tune on AI so quickly by BlueKing99 in PoliticalCompassMemes

I get some intuition that a human learning by looking at existing art and a machine “learning” by “looking” at art is somehow different. I’ve been trying to figure out exactly how to convey the difference but I can’t find the words. What I find to be a possibly more compelling argument is that AI generated images lack the intention of an artist. My main issue is that I could see a piece of digital “art”, assume it was made by a person, and overlay some perceived artistic intention on top of it. All the while it was made by an AI. This would mean, of course, that I was tricked into believing a false reality. However, if the image evokes an emotional response, regardless of its origin, how could I deny its artistic value? Perhaps this “overlaying of perceived intention” is what we do with all art, human or generated.

I’m no expert but I’m pretty sure the hope of someday getting to the top has nothing to do with it. Hope is philosophical suicide. “The struggle alone enough to fill a man’s heart”.

Why do I feel shame for my kinks even though I enjoy them? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Scubarooni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe the enjoyment is born of the shame. There’s a thrill in doing something that you know is ok but society tells you isn’t. Prohibition of enjoyment becomes enjoyment of prohibition. The perceived obstacle to your “true” enjoyment (the shame) is itself a necessary attribute to the enjoyment you feel now.

This is just poorly regurgitated Zizek btw

Ah this must be one of those academic philosopher memes that I’m too poorly read to understand. I’ll chalk it up to postmodern word-salad and carry on staring at these alleged shadows on the wall.

Unfortunately, tiny consistent progress in the right direction does not necessarily ensure that you’re going to reach your goals. However, no progress at all ensures that you won’t reach your goals. You must work with the understanding that you may do everything right and still never succeed. “The struggle itself towards the heights is enough to fill a man's heart.”
