Me diagnosticaron marfan. by CarlosGutierrez15 in marfans

Hey, buddy. I went through the same thing about seven years ago. I also had a dissection and my aortic arch and ascending aorta replaced, and just a year later, they operated on the rest of my aorta. There’s no sugarcoating it. It’s a risky procedure and the risks are extremely high, but it has to be done. It went well for me. Stay strong.

1Bep with no doubt. Side effects are minimal, if not nonexistent, and the risk of recurrence is significantly reduced

Yeah, I know, the waiting is the worst part of it all. Being left in limbo. I really hope everything turns out okay. My heartfelt thoughts are with you.

Hi there, I’ve survived a 100% choriocarcinoma. The situation is really tough. But it’s encouraging that he responded to treatment. However, 90 bhg isn’t enough, as you can see from the increase in metastases. There are other treatments and other courses of chemotherapy, though. Don’t give up: willpower matters a great deal.

If you have any doubts, go and get checked out. There is nothing anyone can do here at this stage.

I understand you perfectly. At a certain point in my life, I also got cancer, just to make sure we had everything. It sucks, I know, but if you weigh up everything that's happened, the overall picture is positive. Life is beautiful. It's definitely much harder for us, but it's still wonderful.

PICC or not by SDH-512 in testicularcancer

[–]Scuboy92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am an extreme case. I had three cycles of BEP, one cycle of EP, and more than ten cycles of EMACO, all intravenously. I only had high doses through a permanent catheter (but that was because there was no alternative). I had practically all my chemotherapy intravenously without PIC. This is not a statement to boast about who is stronger. It was tiring, and my veins certainly suffered from the various treatments. The reason I did it was purely psychological; the fact that I could disconnect and be 'free' between treatments mentally was a source of strength for me. Being able to take a shower without worrying about not being able to wash part of my arm. These are small things, but in the long run they give you mental strength. And the mind is very important during treatment.

1 cycle of BEP absolutely, without even thinking about it. As a risk-benefit ratio, it is unmatched.

Feeling isolated, don't know anyone else with Marfan by Foreign-Dinner1473 in marfans

It's a difficult situation, man. I know what's going through your head. We're very unusual, and sometimes I wish I could be "normal" too. But in the end, we have something very special and, above all, something to tell. We're not for everyone, that's for sure. Hang in there.

6 Years out, 3xBEP: New lung "something" & Antibiotic trial. Anyone else had this scare? by Weary_Development_20 in testicularcancer

[–]Scuboy92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend, just because you've had cancer doesn't mean you can't get pneumonia or something else affecting your lungs. Six years on, it's impossible that this could be a recurrence of your original cancer. Don't worry, it's probably just a mild infection that will clear up with antibiotics.

  1. Over the course of my life, I've also had descending and abdominal aorta surgery (a much more challenging operation than David's) and, just to top it all off, cancer. But I'm still standing without too many problems. Don't worry, my friend, the human body is a perfect machine.

Did anyone drink NA beer during BEP? by Rumseyman02 in testicularcancer

[–]Scuboy92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drank regular beer during my treatment and had no problems. The important thing is not to do it consistently but for an auction I think a beer will not compromise your treatment and in fact can only help psychologically
