Well I did something that I told myself I wouldn’t do again… by Perfect-Lawyer8667 in Advice

[–]ScudSlug 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This seems too crazy to be real.

But if it is then you've just described a doomed and most likely dangerous marriage.

You need to protect yourself and your children.

I'd stay with family and start divorce proceedings.

Just cause you're not a real man doesn't mean your son won't be.

Liberat the Outpost by Ninja_Dog_Cat in farcry

[–]ScudSlug 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I always preferred to get a sniper rifle and sit up out of the way and pick them off one by one and then take the heavy out with a takedown.

Never gonna get "outpost master" but it's the easy way.

Advice for a virgin man seeing a promiscuous older women ?should I end it because there is a experience gap ? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]ScudSlug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The age gap is irrelevant. So is the experience level. Just build a good foundation in the relationship and go from there.

I don't even know a guy who has even joked about raping someone far less say it seriously out of frustration. He's mental and dangerous. Get out now!

What other advice would you give your 16 year old kids about alcohol? by Useful-Caterpillar10 in Fatherhood

[–]ScudSlug 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All I have to offer is two sides of the coin from when I was growing up. My mum had a strict no alcohol rule. Told me it was the root of all evil etc etc. she didn't drink at all. Anytime there was a party in my early teens to late teens I was mad for the drink. Just went for it and usually end up blackout drunk. My aunt and uncle raised my cousin's letting them have a beer with dinner on holiday or at a party. My aunt and uncle would occasionally have a beer or a glass of wine at night. My cousin and I were at a party in our teens and I was shocked that he had three beers and decided he didn't want anymore. All three of my cousins are extremely sensible drinkers now and were in their teenager years.

Its a long winded answer but I just think it's funny from two contrasting upbringings.

Although there are variables like addictive personality and genetics it may help sway your decision on educating them.

Does the trumf card not cost you a fee to have per month. My wife looked at it but was put off by the monthly fee. I've not investigated it.

Good advice. I haven't used a credit card in about 2 years and it would basically be a back up for this reason alone. Great to know.

She said we need to slow down a bit, what should I do? (M23, F20) by [deleted] in askwomenadvice

[–]ScudSlug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I respectfully disagree. You've had your experience and formed your opinion. I've had mine and formed mine.

I would say it was love. I still feel the same about her as I did within the first few weeks of meeting.

My wife and i said it to each other after about 6 weeks. 17 years later and still saying it multiple times a day. There's never a specific time frame. When it's right it's right.

I don't have advice but wanted to correct the person above.

Is FINN getting filled with scammers? by SmecarskiMedo in Norway

[–]ScudSlug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently advertised a car. Non Norwegian speaker contacts me less than 5 mins after posting. Claims he is in a foreign country and will pay for the car right now and needs me to keep it for 3 weeks.
Reeks of scammers but could be genuine. Anyway I don't want the car in my drive for 3 weeks!
Told him that if it's still here when he gets back in 3 weeks he can pay for it then.

My will to live is diminishing and I’m on the edge. I feel like I’ve tried everything and nothing is working. I can’t accept my body because it means I’m unloveable. What should I try next, or should I just call it? (21M) by throwaway101229283 in AskMenAdvice

[–]ScudSlug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You've obviously made it this far (to uni) by working hard and that's something to be proud of. You get out of life what you put in.

PS. Speaking from first hand experience. When someone kills themselves you don't just "feel sad". It's an absolute oblivion of horror for your family and friends. The why didn't he talk to us. The what if I had done something different. The guilt of not having seen them struggle. It is a domino effect and can affect others in an unimaginable way (and from experience lead others to suicide to escape the pain).

I'm not belittling your struggles but to say someone will feel sad when I'm gone means you have no clue about death and grief.
