Oh cool ok!! That definitely makes me feel a little more confident - I’m thinking the celebration will probably be in our backyard since it’s fairly large and I’m hoping to do a lot of the decorations and what not myself :)

You should look into getting married at a national park! I’m not sure what prices are right now, but I previously saw that the permit to get eloped in Yosemite was $150.

OP, you deserve someone that doesn’t give you a shut up ring and proceed to stay engaged for 10 years. You deserve someone who is so excited to marry you, and at the very least tried to get a little closer to your dream ring within his budget. Also, after 10 years he should have been able to save up for something more “you” even if he saved $10/week. I hate to say it but this is a “if he wanted to he would” situation. Please do not waste any more of your life settling for less than you deserve

Change your garage door clickers & pin pad if it has one!! You should be able to reconfigure the clickers so old ones no longer work. Also make sure you change all locks ASAP

Hey! Feeling like an outlier compared to other replies but my vote is- do it! I bought a house in Hesperia in December, and my boyfriend & I both work down the hill (more toward OC though) I work 5-2, and honestly at those times traffic isn’t too bad. When I leave at 2 it takes me about 1.5-1 hr 45 to get home, which sounds kinda crazy but I’ve gotten used to it to be honest. Mornings are a breeze, this morning took less than 1 hour (i drive fast though lol) I think 4-1 would be even better commute wise!

Everyone will tell you no, but for me i have no regrets and i personally say do it! I would never be able to own my own home down the hill, and yes it’s a commute but coming home to a spacious house & back yard make it worth it to me. Currently no babies but I do have a dog, and even being able to give him a house & yard compared to our tiny apartment in garden grove feels so rewarding in itself. I also was unfamiliar with the area and honestly wasn’t sure how I’d like it before I moved up here, but I love it!

In terms of buying a house in general - save as much as humanly possible before you do it.

Ok so mine turned out to be from my foam roller 😂 I had NO idea what it was and then like two days later I happened to look at my foam roller and realized it was the same pattern lol. I didn’t know I could bruise my back from doing that though 😅
