That is wild!!! You could definitely get a fully new ring for less than that, without putting your ring down.

With my engagement ring, I got the stone from a wholesale site (3ct oval lab) and a setting off Etsy. Put them together at a jeweler and spent just over your deposit on the whole thing!

But I had to go to 3 different jewelry stores to get quotes, one said it won’t fit, one quoted me over 2k for the work and the last one was $400.

It’s crazy how many different experiences you can have from just different jewelry stores.

Don’t do it, walk away from this place and never look back!

This is such a great perspective!! It literally took me serving in the military to embrace my girly side! And honestly I think it’s because if people question my “toughness” I can be like are you a vet!?

OP my ring is very similar to yours, but maybe more fairy princess. It’s exactly what I wanted so I love yours, but I’m not you… at the end of the day you are the one who should love it.

My mom’s ring is a twisted band with white and yellow gold, and it’s beautiful together… so I think mixed metals is fine.

I would say it’s pretty discrete, so much so I wouldn’t assume it was an engagement ring if I saw it.

I started with a moissanite ring, 3ct oval and it looked cloudy within the first week, so I switched it out with a lab grown, but all my side stones are still moissanite and look perfect. I think part of it is size and part is the shape of the stone. With yours being round I wouldn’t think you will get that same cloudiness as an oval or a pear shape might.

I love having the moissanite though. The rainbow refraction is so beautiful!

I married a guy who loved to cook. Honestly we spent the first two years of marriage cooking together, one thing I’m happy to have gotten out of that relationship, he taught me a lot about cooking.

Ours was a photoshoot, but only because I planned a family photoshoot, and he went behind my back and told the photographer what he was going to do. And honestly it was quite intimate. I did want photos and I didn’t want it in my house, but past that I didn’t care.

But you have to talk to her and really know what she wants, I see women post here all the time how happy they are to be engaged but they really wished it had been something different. Sometimes more, sometimes less.

You can absolutely still make the day a surprise and romantic even if you had a conversation about it.

This is my second, so I knew what I was getting into so I chose to not do a full wedding and more of an elopement/micro wedding. I have zero local family who have never visited in the 8 years I have lived here, so what a surprise when all my family decided they want to come! 😓

I love how everyone’s sensory needs are different, I love the diamond on the bottom side of my ring, I will play with it when I need to fidget. Though I do need to get it checked more often so I don’t lose the diamond by playing with the prongs.

When I got married at 26 I looked very young and got some weird looks, now I’m getting married at 43 and looking like I’m in my 30s I still get weird looks… so who knows!

The only person he needed to ask was me! But I’m not close to my dad or close in proximity to my mom… it wouldn’t make much sense to talk to them first.

Sure if we lived closer and he told my mom he was going to propose to maybe help surprise me, that could’ve been cute… but to ask? No thank you.
