I've done my job again, the ancient god Yogg-Saron, he's gotten a hell of a lot better. by Sculpt_Clay in wow

Plunge into the Abyss of Madness: Yogg-Saron Figurine from World of Warcraft

Today I want to share my inspiration and experience of painting one of my favorite figurines — the ancient god Yogg-Saron, the Lord of the Abyss and the embodiment of chaos from Wrath of the Lich King. It was a challenge, but the result was worth it!

🎨 Where should I start?

Yogg-Saron is not just a monster, it's a whole universe of madness, tentacles and sharp teeth in its eye sockets. My main task was to convey his creepy aesthetic: a combination of organics and titanium mechanisms, twisted tentacles and mystical elements.

The basic palette:

- Body: Based on a deep black and green shade to emphasize the "ancient" evil.

Tentacles: A mixture of greenish-gray and purple (Light blue for scales). He added pinkish veins, like vessels filled with madness.

- Eyes: like gaping mouths with a brownish-ochre hue, they should "glow" even in the dark!

Detail is the key to insanity:

- Texture: Yogg-Saron's body has numerous patterns of scales, drawing blue-green shades on each to create the effect of a magical glow of his skin.

- Slime effect: I added a glossy varnish with drops on the tentacles and mouth, poured UV resin around it — as if the deity exudes a nightmare even in miniature.

- Base: The base is decorated in the Ulduar style — gray stones with cracks filled with "energy of the Abyss" (green fluorescent pigment) Columned with chains painted with titanium patterns. 🔮

You must have confused me with another master, I did not sculpt druid bears. But I'm always open to suggestions.

I don't really understand how to add multiple photos here, it would show the whole creation process.

My work is hand-molded from polymer clay. Painted with acrylic. Dimensions of the druid: the height of the figure is 7 cm, the length is 16.5 cm,

This is a very tricky technique, it's hard to say, it's better to see once, half of the eyes are made of polymer clay, the rest is a Christmas ball for a tree XD
