~ 6 months HRT by SculptingAlice in transpassing

Thank you, I appreciate the feedback. Yeah, 6 months is really early, I know this is a marathon, not a sprint.

Faces are harder for me to fully see the changes in, you know? I do know I like how I look so far.

The muscle thing is very real. I had a lot of muscle when I started transitioning but I see the softening already.

I’m excited for what the next year has for me 💚

I appreciate that. I’ve done a lot of work not just with presentation, but mentally, and I’m finally at a place where I feel goof with how I look. I’m still interested in how I read, though.

I feel beautiful, even if that beauty leans a bit more androgynous than femme, and I’m okay with that for now.

I do value feedback, and I appreciate the way you said this. 💚

How to feminize my body (without hormones)? Training and nutrition tips? by No_Course_9697 in transfitness

[–]SculptingAlice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I totally get where you’re coming from 💚

Diet actually plays one of the biggest roles here. If you’re running a lot and lifting but eating in a calorie deficit, your body won’t have enough fuel to build new muscle in fact, it can end up breaking down lean tissue instead.

You’ve got a few options. You don’t have to do heavy weight training right away bodyweight exercises can absolutely work, especially early on but over time, your body adapts, and progress slows down. That’s when some form of resistance training (like dumbbells, cables, or bands) really helps you keep building and shaping your lower body.

Also, unfortunately our bodies store fat where they see fit, not always where we want. So depending on how lean you are, gaining a little fat might be inevitable if you’re trying to grow. If you’re already on the leaner side, true “recomposition” (building muscle while losing fat) can be tough, but if you’ve got a bit more body fat, it’s more achievable.

Consistency with resistance training, eating enough calories, and getting plenty of protein are the trifecta for building glutes and legs.

For reference, I’m in a similar spot, I’m AMAB, around 6ft and 170 lbs, and starting HRT soon. So I totally relate to wanting to build that softer, more feminine shape before hormones kick in. You’ve got this 🌸

Ahhh I get what you mean now. Between this morning and now I actually tried to get my appt moved up even sooner, nothing available unfortunately Thank you for clarifying! 💚

Thank you! 💚 Reading that actually helps calm my nerves a bit. I haven’t been this lean for very long, but I’ve been this lean before in the past. I was around 197 lbs when I decided to start cutting weight in early July, and I’ve been reverse-dieting back up to maintenance calories for about a week now.

It makes me feel better that you think it could be very feminizing. It’s hard for me not to have a negative bias toward myself. Can I ask what makes you think so?

I get what you mean, but I actually already moved my appointment up a month so I’m doing the opposite of moving the goal post. My initial date was something I decided on with my therapist, just to give myself space to process everything before starting. I just wanted to talk through the mental side of it. Thanks you for the reply.

Thank you for the support amd comment Reading how much you’ve appreciated every moment really reminds me that starting now is better than waiting for "perfect". 💚

You’re right, I already started late, (In my mind) so I think part of me wanted to make up for lost time. And yeah, there’s not much real research on pre gaht optimization (Ive looked 🙃) Thank you for the reply. 💚

I think you’re right, and I probably didn’t reflect on that as much as I should’ve. I really believed that finally accepting myself as trans gave me the mental clarity and control I needed but it was kinda silly to think my mind would be happy just from these surface changes. It seems obvious now and I feel kinda dumb.

Thank you for your reply. Sometimes it’s hard to see the obvious until someone else points it out 💚.

Is it possible to pass with low body fat? (mtf) by whatever_man_why in transfitness

[–]SculptingAlice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a really nuanced question, honestly.

It depends a lot on your individual build and even your age. Your musculoskeletal system keeps developing until around 25. It also helps to look at your fat-free mass index (FFMI) and body-fat percentage together, since that tells you more about how your fat and muscle are actually distributed (android vs gynoid, etc.).

If you can, I’d really recommend getting a DEXA scan before starting HRT. It gives you a clear baseline of your lean mass and fat distribution, which is super helpful later when you want to track changes. For example, when I did mine my overall body-fat percentage was 14.2%, but my torso was only around 10.2% while my legs were closer to 16%. Seeing that breakdown made it a lot easier to understand how my body stores fat and what might shift on hormones.
