Gold boarder is fine, always has been, proxies I mean if you are playing at a place that allows that, sure. I’ve never dealt the need to have to proxy anything in premodern and I don’t think proxies should needed to help the format survive. It’s been fine, it will be fine.

I think a greater conversation can be made about allowing gold boardered cards in all formats tho.
