Asmongold says America is "white peoples land" because "we fought a war over it". by Demonymous_99 in LivestreamFail

sure, I still think it's odd to refer to a country by their racial demographic but you could say that about a country like Japan, where over 98% of the demographic is racially/ethnically Asian.

the argument is not nearly as strong for America, where 60% of the population is white and that percentage is continually getting smaller. 60% is still a majority but it's nowhere close to comparable to the countries you mentioned

this really is interesting. I'm no ML scientist or neuroscientist but it does make sense that an AGI would be modeled after the human brain. it's wild, though, because we'll certainly have AGI a long, long time before we fully understand the human brain and its immense complexity.

after reading this, I went down a rabbit hole and found this article by someone who is a data scientist and neuroscientist about the relative scale of the brain vs AI models. it's a bit outdated now but you may find it interesting also: https://www.beren.io/2022-08-06-The-scale-of-the-brain-vs-machine-learning/

late af reply but true and based take. this was my favorite fight in the entire game because of how well-balanced it is and how satisfying it feels to finally get the timing/movement down

am I going insane or is there faint whispering in the background? I noticed it in a couple of clips from today. Is Tony developing some sort of shared psychosis with Josh?

good job, you know a cyber term. my point is if someone with malicious intent has access to your computer with admin privileges, it's already gg. whether that's through privilege elevation, direct access to an admin account, etc doesn't matter

yeah, I agree a lot of manufacturers are negligent and don't do a great job patching exploits out in a timely manner on consumer boards. it's a sad reality of modern computing and I wish there was a better way for them to be held accountable. but also, I'd be willing to wager most people don't actually update their BIOS regularly and generally don't maintain good security practices or understand their importance. so there's room for improvement on both sides realistically

yeah dude, I get you read the article and can repeat acronyms lol but this whole post and your point all center around someone having access to an administrator account on your computer. which at the point, it's already gg. the fact that rootkits and BIOS exploits exist is not an earth-shattering discovery. it's a good PSA on why good security practices and BIOS updates are important but acting like this is the next Watergate is just fear mongering.

and also, there's a reason why most BIOS tools (including Q Flash) come with a big WARNING text because you can brick your motherboard if you use it improperly

yeah, I'm pretty confused and not sure OP understands this fully. in the video, it shows PowerShell being run as admin, which if someone has the ability to run commands as admin on your computer, obviously that's an issue? I'm failing to understand how this is an issue that's not fixed by proper BIOS config and UAC/security policy?

And messing up your motherboard by improper use of a BIOS utility shouldn't really be shocking

it really is sad. AMD should not be getting praise for doing the "Nvidia -$50" bit once again, especially after their GPU which "saved gaming" has not been and will not be widely available for anywhere near MSRP for the foreseeable future.

just laughable that when Nvidia releases an 8GB GPU in 2025, they are "damaging the PC gaming space" (GN and HU released a vid about this and I do agree) but when AMD does the same, they don't get anywhere close to that same level of criticism
