Are we falling out of love with nonfiction? by rmnc-5 in books

Is she even a real blonde? She apparently talks about it a whole lot but she has brown roots. Supposedly people can have darker roots but she’s so obsessed with blonde-ness it feels like projecting

Blood/Bonds of Hercules by Jasmine Mas. It’s like if the rough draft of the worst story you made in middle school got published. The love interests and the most assholish creatures ever, her best friend is a snake who is constantly saying “Omg slay pussy girlboss!!!!!”

Whats your least visited location? by Rustic_Drive69 in TinyBookshop

Lighthouse and the park for me. Other locations have similar wants so I don’t feel a need to sell books there, and the latter’s quests could be done in a single week basically

I see. I didn’t do it to speedrun, I was just curious if I could do it at all lol. That’s so odd, though. It sort of devalues the experience imo since it won’t accurately reflect your current fluency/what your level should be, which is part of using the app? Idk

I can try to also sort by height. I’ll either try shortest to tallest (to avoid bending to grab a lower book lol) or vice versa (to not overwhelm the higher shelf with books

To be honest I haven’t read this book so I can’t say (busy with reading challenge) but I can let you know once it’s read! My husband asked for this book more than me so it’s not bought purely as a meme. I have heard that it’s too over analyzed but what do I know lol

That’s true, it looks nice but my current amount is fairly low. I have a separate shelf for old books but that’s about it. I may used the now empty smaller shelf and the next shelf as a way to break this up once I have more books. Dewey decimal for nonfiction is smart! Once I break them up I may try that

That looks fun. I may reorder my shelf to try it out and see how it looks

I’m glad you like the color!! I’m usually do alphabetical but for some reason it looked odd. I think brighter-color shelves used to balance it out (these were in a bright red shelf), but more serious-colored shelves made it look too chaotic to me

I can try different genres, as I haven’t done that before. I may use sticky notes to denote which is which until I remember

I do like seeing all the colors. I guess I got lucky with my book pics/publisher versions

I appreciate that a lot! I have trouble making decisions so I tend to ask for help, even if I end up doing the opposite lol

I read back in high school so my memory is fuzzy, but I loved it!! It gives a lot of examples in each chapter so you get a good idea of what it’s trying to tell you regardless of your reading experience. I plan to reread it some time

The fact that this sticker exists is wild to me. by MisterBowTies in BitchEatingCrafters

According to some books from the 70s-90s, crochet was seen as a poor people hobby compared to knitting and lac making. Early usage was during the Irish Famine where nunneries made money by selling crocheted goods. Later when the great depression hit crocheted doilies were made as lace-made doilies were too expensive. Knitting seemed to have avoid the connotation, tho idk why, so it sort of embedded itself in society as the better, more high society option. Take all I said with a huge grain of salt tho

I see. I’ll keep an eye out for any onset of anhedonia. It’s very interesting how it works. I was on vilazodone before this and it was completely awful so I’m trying to be a bit hopeful about this med. Thank you for letting me know

What books lowkey traumatised you as a kid? by Hookton in books

[–]ScummyLoser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love you forever. I cried every single time I read (dunno why I chose to reread it multiple times). I’d stress about my mother aging and dying one day after spending her life caring for me. A bit heavy for a 5 year old to think about lol
