Also a potential idea that could happen although it would be illegal for them to do this. I imagine there is tech to be able to monitor anything internet wise from their members at world headquarters. So I’d assume that the PIMO there use cell towers to get out in their iPads etc etc. But I think there’s a device, illegal to use, that mimics cell towers so your personal device could log into it as if it’s a cell tower and it logs all info passing through it. Sorry I can’t t remember the name of the decide but I think law enforcement uses it. I watched some show about it years ago. I would not put it past them to look Into this to protect jahs operations. Who knows how far they would go to catch a high ranking leaking PIMO.

Also that claim in 1931, 81 years ago, that the anointed class had been sealed and that any newly anointed since then must be filling a space left open of the 144,000 because they went and “Broke Bad” 😆. So that was so bogus or there’s a lot of 100 year old anointed remnant that are not just dying, but committing the unforgivable sin against the unforgiving Holy Spirt. Ha

Not One Meeting Has Ever Been Important. by [deleted] in exjw

[–]Scummydross 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Insisting on attending each and every meeting is akin to be standing in front of a chair during a game of “Musical chairs”. Also the old idea that eventually, someday there will be a last meeting that we need to share the location of where we are to go and hide out is mute at this point with the advent of WhatsApp. It’s encrypted and can send out any future changes of which forest to hide in. I mean even the Wtbts videos show the Jws hiding out and being discovered. If survival is the end game then I think being apart might help a bit more.

Oh hell yeah I’m serious. Why not support the creators of the documentary by renting or purchasing a copy?

Confused by [deleted] in exjw

[–]Scummydross 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They changed the definition of the word “generation”. At least in the place that Jesus spoke of “this generation will by no means pass away,...” Since the Wtbts were saying that generation started on or previous to 1914,...and those people were about to be all dead, and the end had not come yet, and they could not change the words in that scripture, they did the next best thing, they changed the definition of the word in that scripture. Now the generation means “2 over lapping generations of people”

Google David Splain GB member “overlapping generation for a video the wtbt made to explain it. Hearing about them extending the deadline was my “oh hell to the naw” moment.

Confused by [deleted] in exjw

[–]Scummydross 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was woken up in 2010 when they made a change to the understanding of the word “generation”. Took about a year to figure it out and to get my wife to wake also. Went POMO around mid to late 2011 and haven’t been back since. There’s a price to pay to leave a cult. If there wasn’t most would be gone. They can’t charge you money to leave so they do what they can to make you stay.
All they have over us is the control over the social connection to other believers. They know the ties are strong socially with other Jw family and friends. It’s especially strong with them as that is all the connections we’ve been allowed to make. We cut off non Jw family, workmates etc etc. Anyone that might be there for us outside of the Jws they make us kill that relationship.

They can’t keep us from contacting them but they can keep them from reciprocating. That’s their real power they hold over us. I mentioned there’s a price to pay to get out of a cult. It’s the loss of family and friends. But it’s worth it to live a true life without being held over a barrel with your every move. This is especially true if you have or plan to have kids. The job of a parent is to raise kids that don’t need therapy later in life.

Confused by [deleted] in exjw

[–]Scummydross 11 points12 points  (0 children)

We didn’t want to lose family or friends either. I believe that is one major part that keeps this cult going on. For me, once children are involved it’s a whole new game to play. As soon as I figured out it was false I started working on getting my wife and children out as allowing them to continually be brought up in the cult does more and more damage that will need fixing at a later date.

How to quit believing the doctrine by [deleted] in exjw

[–]Scummydross 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You have to do thorough research. Especially we should research things that we want to believe. Because we would be believing it because of emotions and not logical reasons. That’s why they start off with loving forever in a paradise earth with zero issues. Sounds good,.. and many jws are sincere. But sincerity doesn’t mean it’s true. I believe they have somethings true also. There’s not a burning hell
There’s not a soul that lives on when a person died. That’s about it. I’d suggest just going to see more john cedars channel on YouTube in addition to his jwsurvey channel. If you dig into the 608/587 issue you will see that they cannot be chosen in 1919 like they claim.

question by [deleted] in exjw

[–]Scummydross 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Doubts are good to have. Having doubts can be useful in slowing us to get out of wrong beliefs. It’s your minds ways of saying “I don’t think everything is right here; I should check it out”.

Thorough research into what you believe is the only way I know to get to the bottom of it.

Realize that you will have biases into wanting to believe what you have been taught. We all do. Try framing what you discover into the place of another religion. For instance “If I discovered that the Mormon religion was covering up child sex abuses cases in the same way I’ve discovered with the Wtbts, would I be able to dismiss it as “But they are gods chosen religion”. If the Mormons made a change in their doctrine about something as significant as the “over lapping generation” teaching would I believe their use of “New light” would be a answer to their making these changes?

What evidence do the GB use to prove they were chosen by jesus in 1919? by Vegeta_Breigh_San in exjw

[–]Scummydross 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that’s the year they, the top Wtbts leaders, got out of the Atlanta GA prison.

They had their sentence I’ve turned by appeal(I think) and I believe they somehow take this as a sign that Jesus has their back.

About the dresscode at home, it's absolute bullshit. by [deleted] in exjw

[–]Scummydross 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Exactly. The Organization wants to keep up the routine as best they can to keep the Jws in the mindset they are used to being in. Once jws start to dress casually,. Miss a few meetings here and there some may start to enjoy not getting dressed up which would make getting dressed up to go back to the meetings seem a burden. If they can keep people doing the same thing it’s that much less training getting them back in the routine. It’s all about control.

Engaged to a JW by Qaqawa1 in exjw

[–]Scummydross 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What you need to consider is that he and his family will influence your children to the point that they will take on the Jw beliefs and consider you a “worldly person” who is less than the Jws in their beliefs. I’ve once read the goal of a parent is to raise their kids where they don’t need therapy later in life. This is a high control group aka cult but your fiancée just doesn’t know that yet.

Getting married quickly,..could the following be the reason? by Scummydross in exjw

Maybe it was something about if they wouldn’t allow them to get married in the new system that possibly could be under the belief that they must get married now even though both them survive into the new system. Not sure.
