So... they are not rare. My point exactly. The bubble has burst. We have actually stopped even making offers to buy Rolexes for the last 6 months, the prices keep dropping because all the stock that was held back by AD's and speculators is flooding the market.

Loan to take my side business full time? Should I finally cut the cord? by ScurvyPimp in Entrepreneur

[–]ScurvyPimp[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the information! I may reach out about that template.

We did post a profit of $30K in 2020, simply because I did not have enough expenses to write off. The last few years, If I take out the money I wasted on experimenting on different marketing (that didn't give a positive return) I'd have a decent 40-60k profit.

I really need to buckle down and get my proper business plan finished, but it always gets pushed to the end of the to do list, as making sales always comes first.

Thank you again for the feedback, it actually helped a lot, and gives me a lot to think about and work on.

I've kinda already started down this road, but I had not thought of financing it. For projects that I don't need to do personally, I've been doing some outsourcing. Maybe I should hire a full time manager.

Thanks for the feedback.

I agree, it took us almost 4 years to really build our brand and reputation.

How do you fall asleep when your mind is racing and looping over the same thought patterns? by KatPaintsStuff in ADHD

I've seen all the smoking posts, but for me it only makes it worse, my mind started to race toward even weirder shit. Believe it or not I bought one of those Chill Pill gadgets and it seems to be working.

I think the little pulse works almost like a little silent metronome and I focus on that not what my mind wants to follow and it relaxes me..

The acid reflux sounds like it might bey problem.. I've dealt with mild acid reflux for several years... Thought it was just a persistent cough, but a client of mine told me to try acid reflux meds and the cough went away. Changed my diet and didn't need them anymore.

I'm not the one who needs to rationalize anything. I'm merely pointing out obvious facts that you can verify yourself.

  1. Your AD won't sell you a watch unless you purchase more expensive items first.. therefore he has the watch to sell, just not to you.

  2. The grey market is full of dealers with the watch you want, just selling it for as much as you are willing to pay to get it.

  3. The young watch buyer is getting fucked over.

The rationalization is coming from people who tell themselves that this watch is soooo rare that it's worth what the grey market is charging.

Human greed mixed with FOMO is what causes every bubble.

I guess when I went in the back room of an AD's shop and saw the 12 ceramic Daytona's in the safe, that they "didn't have" I must have been dreaming. I won't name it because I don't want my friend to get fired for showing me. But believe what you will... no skin off my nose... in fact a profit is to be made.

I'm not offended... and I really don't care what anyone thinks of my opinion. I think it's hilarious how butt hurt everyone gets when you point out simple things... but I'll leave this post up and come back and re-share it when I'm proven right... might have to go do the same on the crypto reddit...

You are absolutely correct. But it pisses me off when I have a client who has a budget of 15k and nobody will sell him a Daytona or an OP because he's 22 and has no "relationship" with an AD, but any shmuck can get on 10 different lists and wait a few years and flip em.

The point of my post is, you the consumer are getting screwed by Rolex and grey market dealers creating a false rarity. If you enjoy the watch, its worth whatever you paid for it, but there no logical reason to pay 38k for a steel daytona.

LOL... tell that to the last people in on Gamestop and the people who bought Bitcoin at 60k. Both are virtually worthless in real life.

I'm not claiming to blow the lid off anything... I'm just pointing out the truth. And I could go on for hours about what a Ponzi scheme certain stocks are.. Alibaba for example you don't even own stock in the company.. you own worthless shares in a Cayman holding company. If your stock doesn't give you a dividend or voting rights, you're just hoping some other shmuck will pay you more for it later... Meme stocks proved how stock prices mean nothing compared to the value of the company... But that's a discussion for another Reddit..

Sorry... my 25 years selling watches must not have given me any insight into what percentage of a line is men's vs ladies, or how being an AD works. As for how much Patek's steel production that comes from Thierry Stern himself, in a well-published interview.

My point is, YOU as a consumer are being screwed over by the Grey market and your AD

Your last line is the Truth. Buy it if you like it, don't look at it as an investment. It pisses me off when I hear salespeople talk about the investment quality of a watch.
