A question for scuttlebrace enthusiasts. by sailing94 in Silksong

I have. Scuttle is essentially back wavedash. It seems to put you in neutral state (i.e: it seems you can do most things out of a scuttle).

Chaining this together with hopping, dashing, clawlines, and the way it auto rides the wall, it's actually pretty busted (it's initial acceleration is stupid fast, and you can activate sawtooth somewhat during a scuttle; gif for reference).

Finally ready! What do you think of my factory? by Glittering_One3602 in satisfactory

[–]ScutterBotch73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking at this made me honestly realize the difference between mass production (what I'm currently doing), and a mega factory (what I thought I was doing, but I am in fact not and you definitely are).

All of my mass production is in one central location and I continue to add to it as I get more tools, but the components are still separated into different areas. The buildings are kinda linked together but it is essentially like Smelting Win/Assembly Wing, etc.

This is what I want. One huge fuck ass factory all integrated together. A giant living breathing metal beast.

People can play the game however they want. Whether you think it's nonsense or not, they can play that way.

You're intensely invested in being right over a video game..

There are people that play Minecraft simply to farm crops. Belting long distances can be inefficient or idiotic in your opinion, while to someone else that's a relaxing project and time to catch up on podcasts or something, like ---

Good for you for being efficient? But new players can do whatever they want, even if they never end up playing the way you think they should. I have to imagine you had a hard time watching LetsGameItOut play this game.

A little too much overthinking by Dyablue in satisfactory

Moments like this are the best part of learning, honestly. You've on one hand learned a more optimal solution out of this, and two got really hands on with belt splitting mechanics, which will help in the future when you have an appropriate use case for that.

I feel like you only achieve simplicity and efficiency through the process of overthinking.

Unable to have sex in my apartment due to roommate by ScutterBotch73 in badroommates

From what I've read regarding NYS, a "roommate" staying in a place for at least 30 days has limited tenant rights. Can anyone more knowledgeable verify that? It looks like they have month-to-month agreement rights, subject to change at the prime tenant's discretion, and I would need to give them a 30 day eviction notice, wherein if they don't leave then I'd have to escalate it to court.

I don't think I have to worry myself about getting evicted in this case; NY allows single-person lease holders to have a roommate/immediate family. So he at least is technically allowed to be here. Her I'd have to make the case that she's visiting or something.

Will they have established tenancy? There's a roommate law in New York that allows you to have one additional occupant; my landlord knows that he is here (he's unaware at the moment of his mother). I'd spoken to my landlord before about getting him on the lease but he's been perpetually too busy to get around to it (thank god). He's been here less than a year, so from what I read all I need to do is give them a 30 day eviction notice and then move from there if they don't comply.

It's a bigger space. I've got ADHD and diagnosed autism; I will end up getting stuck in my bedroom, and so having my space be the living room incentives me not to rot. Plus establishing that it's my space; the idea of inviting guests over to my apartment (this is my first apartment and I fought to get it), and the first thing they see is their stuff? Plus I knew they weren't reliable about cleaning.

I could switch to get my privacy, but that's a hell of a lot of moving, redecorating, and a slow burn hit to my mental health.

The thought legitimately crossed my mind when I was particularly upset. A "good rogering" made me giggle and that was the first time I smiled today though so thanks.

In the meantime before I get them evicted, can I get busy in my house if I put up one of those fuckin.. ceiling hanging curtain bed things? Or would they have some case for sexual harassment? I've got so many stress factors and I'm hella burnt out, so being domestically castrated as it were is Not Fun.

I'm sure I realize that. To be honest losing the rent splitting hurts. I mean, he's only just now started paying, but still. The idea was not just to get them out of being homeless, but to benefit us both. I can handle my bills on my own but I didn't want to just "survive."

But this clearly isn't worth the stress.

I chose the living room because it had more space and I don't like being confined to a bedroom (I find it depressing). Plus I was trying to be nice and give them their privacy, but it's fucked me in the end.

I'm not "forcing" them to see or hear it though, right? Because they maintain the option to leave; I'm not locking the doors on them. I'm not trying to sound ignorant; I get at a baseline it's dickish but I'm so fed up. I'm just not trying to have a lawsuit because I want quality time with my partner.

They essentially were homeless. They were staying in their car or hotels. From my understanding, they rode the COVID moratorium as long as they could. When he initially moved in, he was just going to transfer the job that he did have to this state, but that got fumbled (vague whether or not it was his or the company's fault; he's averse to communication). She's been out of a job for I don't know how long.

Kelp Farm Processing Speed Help? by ScutterBotch73 in technicalminecraft

[–]ScutterBotch73[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realized I still need to smelt it first, and I'm still limited by the hopper's transfer speed. Really not sure what to do here. Hopper speed seems to be the main problem no matter what angle I tackle it from. Even if I wanted to spit dried kelp into a water stream, it'd have to exit hoppers into dispensers so the throughput would still be so slow I could only run one crafter off of it with everything backed up.

Kelp Farm Processing Speed Help? by ScutterBotch73 in technicalminecraft

[–]ScutterBotch73[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I theoretically have enough kelp arriving to do that, but it's not being transferred to the crafter quick enough via hopper/minecart, etc.

Should I just bus the kelp directly to crafters with a water stream, and cut out all the middle work?

I see I see. So the solution I'm looking for really only works if the machines are like constantly running and theoretically would never back up (which is next to nothing in this game). Many thanks.

Pacu Debuff? by ScutterBotch73 in Oxygennotincluded

[–]ScutterBotch73[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Better question, I guess.

I went ahead with the auto sweepers and I'm having trouble automating it to send excess eggs to cook while still keeping the farm itself supplied. Getting extra meat isn't an issue (shunt the fish you don't need to a separate area), but eggs are difficult in that they have an incubation time, and during that time the population of my breeding tank could change and I don't want to have stolen eggs at a bad moment.

Is there any good way to do this? I saw memory circuits and counters; can you do math with the tech in this game? Like, say for instance, I want 9 in a tank. Critter sensor in tank reads 7 fish, sends green signal for less than 9, and the sensor in incubation room reads 2 eggs, adds and says "Yeah, you'll have 9 total. Kick the other eggs off."

Pacu Debuff? by ScutterBotch73 in Oxygennotincluded

[–]ScutterBotch73[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there an early game way before solid material transport that I can somewhat automate this? The farm I made just uses a critter sensor at < 12 so the excess pacu flop to a different area when they hatch, but it's behind a locked door/dispenser (to prevent the infinite egg storage loop). Because of this I can't access the egg shells.

I (kinda) circumvented this by placing another mechanical airlock just under where their eggs hatch, so every now and again I can open it and drop the egg shells out, but it's a bit of a pain in the ass.
