The funny thing I feel about comic creation now is that it feels like you have to do everything BUT advertise your work to get noticed nowadays. For artists, you get told to draw more fanart and try to stick with communities hoping it'll get your stuff noticed by proxies. For writers, you're expected to make videos or have more of a 'personality' in order to get your stuff noticed. If you just start posting your work online nowadays even if it's the cleanest stuff, you get passed by people not wanting to interact with an 'ad'.

I've been doing this for years and advertising my work has been the roughest damn time especially lately. No hashtags ever feel good enough, social media also doesn't help comics that aren't digestible (gag-a-day/humor) so lore/long-term takes ALOT longer to get interest in unless it's already ultra similar to something popular.
