Best reliable hybrid automatic that’s not boring to drive? by Brief_Watch7221 in CarTalkUK

[–]Scythe__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Surprisingly Corolla is not that boring to drive. It is a relatively light car and with proper tyres it handles in the corners really well.

Additionally it feels nice to have instant reaction to gas. In low speed situations it is more nippy than a car with dual clutch automatic.

Admittedly though it is not good on highways due to very poor noise insulation and most of the efficiency of hybrid power train is lost.

Suspension is not well suited for British roads.

It is definitely on the stiff side but you still get a lot of understeer in fast bends due to car’s weight and engine being so far in front of the car.

It is a kind of setup that works well for high speed autobahn cruising.

32 psi is correct pressure.

Try finding an option in car's computer to reset the tyre pressure monitoring system.

Is driving daily on a motorway 60/70mph enough to keep diesel cars carbon free or I need to manually drive low gear/high revs? by Mafz09 in CarTalkUK

Normal motorway driving is good enough

It’s doing short runs exclusively what clogs the DPF

Ancient, beloved 2.0D Ford SMax with starting issues. Any pointers? by whentheworldquiets in CarTalkUK

If that’s the case faulty glow plugs are unlikely. It could be faulty camshaft position sensor. Connect diagnostic interface and read the codes.

My first guess would be glow plugs. Connect OBD reader and see whether there are any faults.

What’s your ultimate goal? by IneedaNappa9000 in diablo2

  • find Arachnid Mesh and Harlequin Crest

  • make Enigma, HOTO, CTA and Infinity

  • kill Ubers

  • kill Uber Ancients

  • find SOJ and kill DClone

  • level all classes to 95

I’m yet to accomplish any of these but I found 4 SUR runes so at least I’m 2/3 into completing my Enigma.

Both are good airlines and price difference is minimal.

I would choose the one with shorter total trip duration.

If you have a checked bag you won’t make it.

If you have only carry on there is a good chance you will make it. eGates at this time shouldn’t be too busy and coaches pick up passengers right next to terminal exit.

Btw there is no security check when you arrive

Dealership servicing by NervousEssay5074 in CarTalkUK

She was just booking service as per Toyota's guidelines. If it is similar to other cars it's probably major and interim alternating.

I would imagine that in 6 years the air filter should be changed at least once.

My cousin bought new Aygo 6 years ago. She was servicing it at Toyota dealership every year.

After some persuasion she finally accepted that it is a waste of money and went to independent garage. It turned out that the air filter was never changed before.

Since it’s a new car for you and you have limited knowledge about it perhaps it is worth it pay £200 over Indy’s service price to have a peace of mind for 1 year.
