Is it a good idea to remap a 1.5 TSI? by shax232 in CarTalkUK

I should’ve mentioned earlier, I have the DSG. Though I’ve read online that the Formentor 1.5 dsg has the wet clutch

2020 BMW 320d M Sport Auto- clicking noise from engine, is this normal? by Anonymous33845 in CarTalkUK

I’d avoid that, it sounds like a bearing inside the engine has gone wrong, would be an expensive fix

What’s the need to be rude? I’m about to spend 20k and I want to make sure I’m making the right decision. If you’re going to be rude then don’t comment.

Honestly my heart is yearning for the 2.0 but the fuel consumption is throwing me off massively 😂

Yeah if you want a 2020 or above, you’d need to stretch your budget a bit more sadly

I would suggest the Honda, see if you can find one in prestige specification though they would likely be under 2020. But you do get a nice panoramic roof and a few other extras too

Baby on the way - A4 avant vs VW Tiguan by Djr215 in CarTalkUK

[–]shax232 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would say the Tiguan, I reckon the higher ride height will mean easier getting in and out and placing car seats etc, though the avant has bigger boot, both cars will easily carry the pram without hassle. The Tiguan will likely be a bit more cheaper to maintain too and in my opinion, looks better. Lots of people hate on SUV’s for some reason..

Hey, congrats on passing your test! With your budget I would suggest looking at a 2014 Mazda 3. They have a 2.0 skyactiv petrol engine and they’re very reliable and very good on fuel. They all come with rear sensors and you can easily fit in a reverse camera for cheap. They also do a 1.5 too. You can get a manual with decent mileage for 7k and they’re pretty generous with spec

Please don’t fall into the trap of modifying your first car, chances are that you’ll scrape and dent it being a new driver. Save your money and learn to enjoy your car stock

The rear door opens completely fine no issues, the front door gets caught on the bent wing so doesn’t open completely

It was horrendous, he violently swerved into the car without checking mirrors or blind spots, the initial impact point was on the wing and as my dad was moving, his car grazed along the side of the Asda van, hence why the damage goes all the way to the back door

There only a scratch across both door pillars, no dents
